Challenging but fun
We ended up playing this course four times because we enjoyed the challenge and it does get easier on playing and learning where the hazards are placed. The conditions were excellent, but a couple of the bunkers were poor due to the heavy rain that had fallen. The pace of play was good and the staff were all extremely friendly and efficient. I think the only down side would have to be the food. We bought sandwiches to take out on the course and they were very dry.

Enjoyable round
This course provides more than adequate challenge for all skill levels and for this time of year was conditioned better than most in the HHI area. At times it seems as if you are playing 18 completely separate courses as most green to tee cart rides are considerable as you weave through housing tracts. You could never walk this course even if it was allowed. Tees were well conditioned; greens ran true, fair and fast; sand traps actually had sand in them. This course has many features that make it a must play in the area.

Very challenging course. Lots of water.
This course is very challenging and course knowledge helps a lot. Many hidden hazards. Very difficult for a high handicapper. The course is not long bur requires very precise shots. I believe if I played the course multiple times I could do better understanding the nuances and layout of the course. Greens were very fast and undulating. Course was in very good shape.

Excellent value will definitely play next year
The course is in great condition, the layout is solid with interesting but no goofy holes. the greens are fast but fair. staff very courteous. one of the best values in Hilton Head area.

Very pleasant course, well maintained.
Very well maintained with very nice landscaping. Good practice range and practice area. Challenging course that requires well placed shots.

Great Course this winter
This place is fun. Great staff, level tee boxes and great greens. Each hole gives you options. Can't wait to see this place in the spring and summer. Not bad for winter. Great bar and food.

A Palmer classic. Tough and pristine
This course is simply top notch.. It bears all the marks of a classic Palmer signature course. Shot placement is critical. it is not enough just to hit the fairway or green. Slopes, well placed hazards and dangerous greens bring bogey into play for being out of position. The greens are sloping and fast, but fair. The fairways and bunkers are perfect. Bring your "A" game. Even at full price this time of year, it is a must play. I have seen many much higher priced courses that weren't as worthy a play as this.

The course was in great shape
Love the course, for the beginning of march it was in fantastic shape and really love the set up! I will be playing it again in July.

Good course
No coffe available at the the club house on a cool day (58 degrees and windy). Club house was closed at six fifteen so no washroom available. Narrow fairways with lots of fairway bunkers and water hasards makes this golf club a challenging and interesting one. Played late in February and the course should be better groomed in the summer.

Great experience
Found the course one of the best we have played. We only played the front 9 but can't wait to do the rest. The course staff, especially Ray, were very helpful. We are from Canada and look forward to next year. What a great area!

As always, perfect
I have played this course many times and love it. Granted on this round I rated the Pace of Play as long but in all fairness, it generally is not. Sunday was our first sunny day in 3-4 days so everyone that hadn't played in a few days was on the course and with all the rain, it was cart path only so naturally this round was slow.

Great course, condition, price, and difficult
If it is a nice day you might have to wait an hour for your golf cart. They do not have enough carts so when you get to the golf course an hour early to hit some balls and putt you have to wait on the street. Your cart will show up around your tee time. There are a lot of resort players so the pace of play on nice day is between 5-6 HOURS. The course is in great shape and very difficult. The price is super so on a nice day it will be very crowded and take forever to play. Great course but good luck.

5-and-a-half hours ... yikes!
Nice course but we waited on EVERY shot! This is not a course to take beginners or limited skilled players ... there's just too much trouble for them to get into. If I knew we could play it in a little over 4 hours, I'd jump at the chance, but if this is the normal pace in February, what's it like later when it's nice and stuff is growing like crazy.?!!

This one is now my favorite!
Of all the Arnold Palmer courses I've played, this is the best. Look in any direction and take a picture. A great layout and in great shape. Greens a little slow due to the recent rain storm.
I will play this one again before my vacation is over.

Fun and challenging round of golf on a decent track.
Enjoyed this round of golf with 2 friends. Somewhat challenging, especially when the wind picked up. Greens were in pretty good shape and rolled true. Good experience overall.

Good condition. Target golf. Some very tough holes.
The course conditions were very good, for Feb. Greens were in good shape, not cut the day of play. Some holes required more skill than we had. Average staff. Eagle Point was a better match for our group.

If you like to see gators, this is the place
I have played better courses designed by Arnold Palmer,
However it is still an above average course as to difficulty abd
challenge

Redundant with review
Great track, play it every time I come to Hilton Head.

disappointed
We had read other reviews and expected something different. This is a very challenging course for the average golfer with too many hidden obstacles. Carts had GPS, but mostly told only the distance to the green, not the many hidden hazards, bunkers or waste areas. some players had difficulty carrying over hazards due to lack of posted yardages. There were numerous sand traps with zero or one rake for a huge trap.

A scenic course in great shape, offering lots of challenge.
For whatever reason I had avoided Crescent Pointe in my many previous visits to Hilton Head. After two rounds there in the past week, it has become my favorite course in the area, and I've played most of them. The course offers five sets of tees and it's important that you choose the right set: otherwise a lot of your golf balls will become part of the magnificent scenery that Palmer has used so well to present challenges to golfers of all skill levels. I chose to " Play it Forward " from a set of senior tees so new they weren't even on the scorecard, but appeared to be about 5600 yd. I doubt that I would have enjoyed myself nearly as much had I played it much longer, especially on three par-5's with water crossing the fairways at crucial points. The carts feature a great GPS system, so bring your camera instead of your range-finder and capture the scenic beauty of the expanses of marshland that extend out to Port Royal Sound. Booking my tee time with Golfnow made the experience very easy on my wallet.

I've played this course 5 or 6 times, greaqt value and fine track.
Will alwaysw play when returning to Hilton head for vacations.

Great track, challenging but fair
Would love to play again, challenging and fun, 1 of the best we played around Hilton Head Island

Beautifully laid out course
Every hole on this course is interesting and challenging from the water hazards, bunker positions to the undulating greens. It is always a pleasure and privilege to play here.
January 10, 2013
Great low country layout, fantastic landscaping, course in excellent shape other than sand traps which were packed sand
Great Palmer layout with fairway bunkers on both sides of a fairway. Course had several holes that made you say do I or don't I go for it. I personally chose to be an adult and layup, in previous years I would have gripped it and ripped it!

Very Nice
I really like how the housing was never really in play. It is in a developed community but you can see the houses but they aren't in the way of the golfing so I didn't get a nervous slice into a home. A narrow but very nice track and lots of natural beauty.

Off season, staff unrmarkable
Played in mid December. The course was in fine condition and not crowded at all. It was apparent that the staff was thin, understandably this time of year, there wasn't a starter and only one bag attendant who was a bit disinterested. Got a great deal through golf now and it was well worth it. I would have been disappointed if I had paid more than $65 because there are better options.

Course is going downhill.
Nice course design but green and fairway maintenance is unsatisfactory. The pro shop manager who signed us in was lacking in courtesy.
December 8, 2012
Great shape for late in the year!
Would definitely play here again. Excellent track and enjoyed.
December 6, 2012
a challenge
Tough course, lots of carries over streams and other water, and wastelands. There are several choices for tees, so try to choose the best for your game.
