Formed in 1921, Longniddry Golf Club in East Lothian the cradle of golf, is situated on the south shore of the Firth of Forth, arguably the finest stretch of golfing coastline in Scotland, 18 miles east of Edinburgh. Longniddry is the closest seaside course to Edinburgh, comprising an unusual combination of woodland and links, with spectacular sea views from many holes.
Designed by Harry S Colt, with no par 5s and 8 par 4s measuring over 400 yards, Longniddry offers a very good test of golf for both members and vistors who come to enjoy some of the best golf available in Scotland. The course has a par of 68 and the course record of 62 was set by amateur Mike Thomson of Peebles. Formerly an Open qualifying course, Longniddry is regularly asked to host amateur championships and recently hosted a 54 hole tournament for the Senior Pro-golf Tour.

A varied and comprehensive menu is provided using the best of fresh local ingredients and will be pleased to provide for all your catering requirements. The Dining Room can seat up to 60.
Catering is available from 10.00am every day and earlier by prior arrangement, with last orders for food at 8.30pm each evening, apart from Sunday when last orders will be 6.30pm.
A range of catering themes are offered each day of the week for example our very popular High Teas on Fridays where the haddock is not to be misssed! However, the standard menus are also available each day, as well as specials which will change regularly.
Bar snacks are served in the lounge bar, in the 'back bar' and during warmer weather, on the veranda. The current snack menu can be viewed here.
'Smart casual' attire is acceptable throughout the Clubhouse, although 'jacket & tie' is preferred in the Dining Room in the evening and at weekends.
Ducks at Kilspindie House is nested in the picturesque village of Aberlady, a great base for exploring East Lothian. Our coastal location also makes us the perfect accommodation for Golfers, Bird Watchers and Walkers.
Great Food and very comfortable lodgings, 23 en-suite rooms, we are also known as a ‘restaurant with rooms’. Duck’s offers Fine Dining with white linen and candles, a seasonal á la carte menu including seafood, steaks, lobster and an award winning wine list. Donald's is named after Malcolm Duck's father (pre Disney!), is a more informal bistro / diner; an excellent value bar menu together with a grill, specials board and kids menu. Free Wi-Fi and car parking.
