Dorado Beach - Plantation Sugarcane

View Tee Times

The Dorado Beach Plantation Sugarcane Course is the more challenging of the two Plantation courses at this Caribbean golf resort, although it boasts larger fairways and greens. The course features more forced carries and deeper bunkers that can penalize you for an errant shot. The back nine is surrounded by newly created rivers and lakes and offers a much different look, never seen at the old Cerromar and Dorado Courses, making this a hidden gem amongst Puerto Rico golf courses. Players have an opportunity for birdies early in the round, but par is a great score on most every hole on the back nine. The new 50,000 square foot, $5 million clubhouse awaits golfers after their round. Whether it be for a cold beverage with your foursome, a magnificent meal cooked to order, or simply to relax on our deck that provides great views of the golf course.

Dorado Beach - Plantation Sugarcane 4.5 5 2 2
Wet but otherwise very good Sunny and very warm. Very nice club house and friendly staff. Very wet conditions so practice area was closed. But fairways and greens were relatively dry. Cart paths only. Course is very nice shape if one stays on fairways. Much better than pineapple course in my opinion. February 19, 2015
Tight Course After a very scenic trip getting there from San Juan I was welcomed by the friendly staff. The free practice facilities were in very good condition. There was a tournament going on on another course so Sugarcane was pretty free of traffic. I was playing by myself and only caught the 4 ahead of me on the 16th hole. The fairways are narrow and in great condition other than a couple which had areas that were wet. The greens were in great shape with plenty of turn but soft enough to land the ball comfortably. After the round the staff were very good again offering cold towels and rides back to the car. The club house is very well maintained with friendly staff. I will be going again next weekend.
