Early Spring golf in Pennsylvania
I arrived early and was allowed to head right out on a cold blustery Sunday morning. Since it was early spring in Pa. and the greens had been aerated they were in poor shape as were some washed out bunkers; fairways were pretty good though. This is open, links style golf with tremendous elevation changes and beautiful views. I would recommend the course and am interested in returning in season to check on its condition.

The elevation changes makes it a lot of fun
Great course. The elevation changes makes the course fun and different. The only thing i think they should focus on are the bunkers. They are in bad shape.

Decent muni course
Course was in good condition for the season although hopefully some attention to greens and fairways will be paid before spring. Went as a single but go paired with 3 other GolfNow users and a good time was had by all, especially yours truly who cleaned up with 10 skins. A little far from home but I was chasing the warm weather. If course was closer to home, might recommend to friends for occasional play.

Difinitely going back
Played on 12/21/2012 - course was wet (cart path only) but otherwise it was awesome. Liked Heritage Hills, but loved Springwood. It's a nice links style (like Wyncote) but more forgiving rough and a LOT cheaper. A few long par fours on the back, but some short ones too - fun for all skill levels. Not much of a pro shop, and the staff has a who cares attitude - but that could be because it's almost Christmas and they'd rather be home. I'll see if that changes in the summer.

Excellent, challenging course
Springwood is a very well maintained course that offers some real challenging golf. This review is a follow up to one in September as the issues have been resolved. We will be playing this course regularly. The greenskeepers are to be commended for maintining this course in a very trying year.

Great Golf Deal
The fairways are open, but narrow, if that makes any sense. Conditions are nice, not perfect, but very good. Staff is very friendly, and they just built a new bar on the deck, very nice for after the round. $12 for a Friday round?! Cant beat it! This used to be a 5 star private club that went belly up. They are now owned by Heritage Hills. Driving range needs some work...

if you are looking for a road trip... try this course
Took a ride from Philly to play here...This is a great mix of holes and a very enjoyable place to play.. The conditioning is good but not great.. Some terrific elevation changes here and local knowledge sure helps alot.. A few quirks on the course like power lines on a hole that are placed too low and can affect your tee shot.. Played here for 17 dollars on a golfnow.com deal... cant complain for that kind of price..

great fairways
Course has large fairways with winding hills. Mostly open but does have tall grass that you will not find your ball in if you miss hit your ball badly.

Fun course
Thanks to golfnow.com for making the round cheaper.

Challenging course. Bullying pro shop attendant.
Springwood is a very challenging course that will test your skills. If you cannot hit the fairways, you will lose balls. It's very well maintained in spite of some intense storms/flooding recently. We have played it twice and would like to play again except for the very unfriendly and unprofessional pro shop attendant who seems to delight in bullying golfers. We arrived an hour early for our tee time and were instructed that because we booked thru Golf Now we had to wait even though the course was completely open. "That's what you get for the cheap greens fees". We felt that we were treated like second class citizens because we booked thru Golf Now.
