The Spring Hollow Golf Club is an 18 hole championship golf course. The Course opened in 1994 in the hills of northern Chester County. Architect John Thompson created a layout that blends in the features of this one time dairy farm on the grounds of the state owned hospital, Pennhurst. The par 70, 6008 yard layout has five par 3's, three par 5's and ten par 4's which results in a variety of shots. Meadows that define some of the holes were left in place and they give the course a natural look and feel. From one side of the course to the other there is a 110 foot change in elevation. Water hazards in the form of wetlands, creeks, and ponds come into play on six of the golf holes. The frequent and often dramatic elevation changes affords the players not only challenging shot selections, but also beautiful views of the surrounding area.

Spring Hollow Golf Course 3.6 5 11 11
Too many blind shots It was a great "Hot Deal". $ 52.00 regular W/E rate is a crime. I never played a course where I had so many blind shots with a wedge in my hand. #2 thru #8 it seems like they just crammed them in there. Back to Back twin Par 3's wasnt that interesting either. April 5, 2013
Pretty Average This is not a terrible course and despite the non-recommendation, I would consider playing again if I was in the area and got a deal on the green fee. The course is in relatively good condition considering the tie of year. However, the greens are small, the course is built on some weird hills, and the layout is kind of un-imaginative. I particularly do not like two back to back par threes which are exact replicas of each other. Both short irons, flat and no hazards. Just a green and a tee box. March 28, 2013
Up, down, up, down...all day My first time here. The best feature was the three old timers playing cards in the lobby; guessing they are here every day - super friendly. Elevation changes on EVERY hole. Could have used a Sherpa! If you like these type of courses, have at it. As for me, I know I will not be back again. Just not my type of course. Although it was in pretty good shape for later February. The carts are old school and have no windshield, which is a nice option to have on those windy winter days (my cart heater was useless). I also had to drive with my hand on the choke all day. You'll either love it or hate it. February 28, 2013
Short, easy, fun, friendly. Great place for winter golf in PA. Spring Hollow is a short, relatively easy golf course that is a typical Pennsylvania course with rolling hills, elevation changes on nearly every hole and a few really interesting holes. The staff is very friendly. This course is always the first one open in the winter so it is a great place for the true Pa golf diehard. February 8, 2013
Great The course is clear of leaves on the greens. The grounds are clear of any papers and ect. The cart was clean. I would go back any time I can. December 15, 2012
This course is good. Hole 14 is par 5 and very difficult, due to a wide pond. November 27, 2012
FUN COURSE I really enjoy this course its not very long but if your not hitting the ball straight that day it can be challenging because of the thick rough. The greens are fairly quick with some tricky breaks. there is a conciderable amount of elevation change and blind shots which keep the round from becoming boring. Course conditions are always good and pace of play is approx. 4 hours on weekend which is unusual for this area. November 25, 2012
Hilly terrain and fair number of dog leg holes. There are some trees, but still relatively open for the driver. greens are fast in November. Hilly terrain and fair number of dog leg holes. There are some trees, but still relatively open for the driver. greens are fast in November. watch out on 18th when putting, ball break toward pond, which is deceiving. November 19, 2012
Fun, Well Kept This course is fun to play. There are many elevation changes and a few blind shots. It's not long, but it's fairly challenging. The views are great, the course is always in very good condition, and the staff is very friendly. November 5, 2012
Fun course , challenging, the greens are always in great shape. October 4, 2012
Excellent Condition, Good Challenge, Great Value Played on a Friday AM in early August. $34 w/ cart for 18. Excellent value for the course. Fairways were in great condition, though rather narrow at times. It was dry so the greens were quite quick and challenging. Some pin placements could have been at the US Open. Not an easy course for a beginner as the elevation changes lead to a lot of uphill/downhill lies required swing modification/control. Overall excellent course. #4 Par 3 uphill 180+ with super fast downhill green. Not a fun hole, but challenging. #14 Par 5, Moderate drive off the tee leaves you with a long carry over a lake on a downhill lie. Loved #18, simple par 3 but green is right in front of the clubhouse deck. Great to sit out with a beer and cigar after your round and watch everyone approach. Good food and beer selection and a very nice clubhouse bar. September 21, 2012
