Cobbs Creek Golf Club - The Olde Course
The Olde Course is the crown jewel amongst the Philadelphia Public Golf Courses as it has been nationally recognized as the Sixth Best Municipal Golf Course in the United States by Golf Week magazine (Jan. 2000). The historic Olde Course is a mature tree-lined golf course that was constructed in 1916 and is named for George Cobb, the owner and operator of a Grist Mill that was located on the present day site. The highly respected layout is a Hugh Wilson design (architect of the famed Merion-East Course, Ardmore, PA). Accuracy is a must on the front nine as Wilson took full advantage of the creek, which meanders through the course and comes into play on the first six holes (seven total). The back nine is equally as challenging and is highlighted by a string of lengthy holes including the monstrous 638-yard 14th hole. Views of the Philadelphia skyline will accent your memorable visit to The Olde Course at Cobbs Creek Golf Club.

Greens can be very severe. Shot accuracy into the green is extremely important. Back 9 is long. Need to drive the ball well to score.
