Woodloch's spectacular, 18-hole, championship, par-72 golf course winds its challenging way over 6,579 yards of fern-carpeted forests, lush wetlands and broad upland meadows. With four sets of tees on every hole, all levels of play can be accommodated. The outstanding signature 14th hole requires a dramatic 220-yard carry over "Hells Gate Gorge" which is carved from the rugged mountainside by rushing water some 200 feet below. Open since 1992, this breathtaking course has been given national recognition by both GOLF Magazine and Golf Digest as one of the finest courses in America as well as being noted as a "rare" find in Met Golfer Magazine. Beautiful and challenging layout The 220 yard to carry the gorge is an incredibly beautiful hole(bogey is good on this par 5). The staff (John, in the pro shop) was extremely friendly, going so far as to getting fre coffee for us, from the cafe, as we waited for the frost to clear. Both the clubhouse and course are well worth the drive. December 15, 2012
amazing course fantastic course the par 5s a highlight especially hole 14,the overall layout of this course is great and the staff at the pro shop very helpful, even at the end of the season the course was in surprisingly fine shape .i will definitely play this again December 10, 2012
what a beautiful course A few friends of mine heard about this course, and how elegant it was. We decided to check it out one sunday, and was astonished how they kept the course, and greens. I would definately play here again, as i plan to. December 3, 2012
Great course One of the nicest courses in the region. Great shape for late season. November 18, 2012
Gorgeous, challenging course! I work about 20 minutes away from this course and have always heard great things about it. When I found a great deal from GolfNow, I jumped at the chance to play it. Normally the course is a little more than I like to spend for 18 holes but after playing it, I can see why. This course has some very unique holes including the 14th, otherwise known as the “Gorge” hole. The views are spectacular and even for playing on a wet October day; the course was in pristine condition. This is a great course and I would recommend it to anyone. November 3, 2012
overall nice coarse the par5's are not forgiving .the golfer should be told the yardage to driving distances.. example , distance to a sand trap, distance to carry slope. etc. the rest of the coarse was beautiful. a pleasure to play. October 31, 2012
One of the best in the area. Always a great spot to play, Wet conditions that day. Lots of rain the night before. Did not have any effect on the greens. Fast and true. Cart path only because of conditions made for a longer round otherwise it was a great day on a great course. October 30, 2012
Woodloch is a great challenge. Woodloch is a great course. The variety of holes makes for a very interesting round of golf. The greens are always in excellent condition and are very challenging as is the entire course. The course is in a very remote location and is somewhat hard to reach. Watch out that your GPS may lead you to an entrance that is not real and the inability to take carts to the parking area is a slight nuisance. But once you get to the first tee, you are in for a great treat. The famous 14th hole is difficult even after you reach the far side of the cavern. October 4, 2012
My top rated course Great course, best in the area. Private country club condition. Super friendly staff, couldn't be any more helpful. If you like mountain courses, don't miss this one. I'll be back !!! October 3, 2012
