Nestled between the Chestnut Ridge and the Laurel Mountains of Western Pennsylvania, Champion Lakes Golf Club offers golf enthusiasts the best in country club golf course conditions in the scenic, country atmosphere of the Ligonier Valley, just 60 minutes east of Pittsburgh.

Champion Lakes is a wooded, 6,608 yard layout with tightly tree-lined fairways and challenging, but always meticulous greens. The strategically placed lawns and pins present a challenge for even the most competitive golfer, a true testament to the course record of only 5-under par, held by PGA Tour Pro Rocco Mediate, and golf legend Arnold Palmer's low round of 68.

Fall colors were in their glory..... Course is nice shape, greens were fast. Leaves started to be an issue along with some extra high fairways.Tee boxes and fairways were recently airated. Largest issue had to deal with were nats/bugs. Have been to the course previously and never had this issue. Asked one of the workers and said "they" were coming from the "river"? and "they" were suppose to spray. Should have stopped after 9 and asked for $ back, but tolerated the bugs to enjoy the weather and views. October 4, 2013
Great greens, some tight fareways, picturesque views A hot deal I could not pass up. Crews were out aerating fareways, which made a couple of holes kind of unplayable from the fareway. That's OK. From the name, I thought there would be more water, but really only a few ponds in play. The amenities are lacking a bit (e.g., old carts) but the course itself is great, with some challanging narrow fareways, doglegs, and well maintained bunkers. It can punish you when you don't hit them straight, especially now with the leaves falling. The greens are fast and fair, with some slope and undulation... some of the best I have played. Nice and well maintained course. Not so nice in the pro shop. The greens were consitant and the bunkers were beautiful and easy to play out of. The guy at the fronts desk was not friendly at all and was visibly angry that I got a HOTDEAL rate for 11:00 a.m. on a Wednesday and went on to tell me how Golfnow made an error. He then went on to say "whatever" and just kinda tossed the key for the cart on the counter. He also gave me the feeling that I didn't "belong" there before the payment situation came up. However, It's a fabulous course and would go back despite the unfriendlyness at the pro shop. September 12, 2013
Beautiful greens & challenging The course is in great shape although some tee boxes were chewed up. The greens were great and the fairways were mowed & clean, though people need to replace divots. September 8, 2013
Great Layout Challenging course, tough but fair, no tricked upped holes. Staff is very friendly. Greens are in nice shape and run true. September 1, 2013
Champion Lakes is a must play in western PA. Champion Lakes is a shot maker's course, with tree-lined tee boxes and fairways, tight doglegs and pristine greens and bunkers. The staff is great, very helpful and friendly. The first couple holes start out wide open with few hazards, but starting on the fourth hole, target golf is the smart play for the rest of the round. Bunkers had grass growing in them and not groomed; Bugs are terrible...Cant they spray? Just aweful Bugs are terrible...just aweful Course has gone downhill, bunkers are not kept up have grass growing.... Would not come back August 11, 2013
Challenging, great layout with many problems Loved the layout of the course, it is definitely a challenging experience. However, it is darn near impossible to play without getting eaten alive by swarms of bugs. It was the worst conditions I'd had to play in in all my years of golfing. You coudln't swing a club without getting a bug in your eye. The ponds are terribly kept and the fairways could use some work. Definitely not the same course it was 10-15 years ago. And that is definitely a shame. August 8, 2013
