Front 9 somewhat short. Back 9 opens up.
For the discount price it was worth the play. Front 9 played slow as many players spent too much time looking for balls in leaves, which was a problem here and at most courses this time of the year.

Blue tees are good yardage for me, well bunkered.
It was a warm, partly sunny day. Fairways, rough and bunkers were in decent shape . Greens were darn fast. It was very windy on front 9 and leaves were a factor, but winds calmed down on back 9.

above average public course,good greens,decent fairways,tees bunkers,some water hazards
the red course is a bit on the short side, especially front the front nine.back nine is a bit of a better challenge. the course has some elevation changes, decent bunkers and greens.green speed is good but not extremely fast. good course to play from time to time.

Things to work on
Greens were in very good condition, tee boxes needed some work, fairways lacked definition

The GPS seems off and the greens weren't the best
It's been a while since I played Cedarbrook red course and the greens weren't as good as I remembered. There were burned out spots and areas on a few that were mud instead of green. I also noticed the GPS didn't seem accurate. There were a few times where the GPS indicated I was 110 yards to the center of the green so I hit a pitching wedge. I normally hit a wedge 100-110 but there were a couple times I hit over based on what the GPS stated. I know I don't hit my wedge 120 yet if the yardage was to be believed, that is what I was hitting consistently. I'm pretty good at eying up the yardage too and many times my eye disagreed with the GPS. If you use the GPS as a tool and not the end all/be all you will be fine. Overall, Cedarbrook red is a wonderful course and a lot of fun to play. I especially like the 90 yard par 3 over the water (hole 3). There are also a couple of holes that are along the interstate so if road noise bothers you, be aware. The golfnow.com deal makes the negatives about the course miniscule considering the value.
