Pennsylvania Golf Courses & Discount Tee Times

The Oldest Golf Course In America
From western Pennsylvania with its coal-mining history to the eastern part of the state with its Philadelphia Freedom, the Keystone State holds the key to great golf. An hour outside of Pittsburgh, in Finleyville, the Scenic Valley Golf Club offers a challenging track that will test your iron skills in a serious way.

Weekend green fees top out at $37 with a cart and the course plays all-year round (or so they hope). Six municipal courses are found in greater-Philadelphia and the crown jewel of that six-pack would likely be Cobbs Creek, which has two 18-hole tracks. None of the sextet exceed $45 in greens fees (with cart) and the convenience of playing inside city limits can never be underestimated. And lest you think the Quakers are quackers thinking they have golf history, consider these two facts: America’s oldest continuously used golf course, the Foxburg Country Club golf course, and golf great Arnold Palmer both hail from Pennsylvania.

The Keystone State is an area where one can find great variety of Pennsylvania golf courses within just a short drive. No matter what kind of course you play, though, your wedge shots need to be sharp when you schedule a Pennsylvania tee time. The individual course’s greens will dictate whether you want to bump and run the ball or hit it high and let it drop softly. Both kinds of shots should be within your ability.
