Casual Golfing This course is great for bringing a girlfriend/wife or any less than experienced golfer. The pace of play can be slow, which is a good thing when you have someone who is learning, but can get frustrating if you would like to move at a more reasonable pace. The course is well maintained, but nothing special. April 3, 2013
Fun nine-hole course with individual holes This is a fairly priced course is a nice neighborhood. The holes are each different and do not adjoin one another. Water comes into play on several requiring a good strategy. The par fours are a bit short and number two at 550 plus and uphill is too long from white tees. It seems they should have shortened this hole and added length to some of the fours. The course is reasonably tight. The staff is friendly and the numerous times we have played it the pace has been fine February 27, 2013
A nice 9 hole course with interesting holes The course is interesting with different holes. My only complaint is hole two is 550+, long for a par 5 from the white tees, plus a lot of it is uphill Other holes are unually short. The greens putt well and the pace of play is fine. There is water on seveal holes and other severe doglegs requiring well placed tee shots. The course is far from boring and requres some thoughts on your tee shots on each hole. February 11, 2013
Very nice layout My first time playing Claremont, so I did not know the course. It is not long at all, but it offers interesting challenges in shot selection and the greens require thought and touch due to their multiple levels that afford some interesting pin placements. I played just 2 weeks after aeration, yet the greens were in fine shape. I had a very enjoyable 9 holes (in 1hr50min), and it is one of the nicest 9-hole courses I have played in years. Overall I give it 4 stars. November 3, 2012
Good course for a quick nine holes I find it difficult to get a reservation to play nine holes on a regulation course. This nine hole course is built through a housing development (or was it the other way around?), but it is not an "executive course". It offers some challenging holes with fair length. I played the course toward the end of a long dry spell, but the course had been watered and cared for. The greens were still a little bumpy for the fall aereation, but I think they would be pretty quick once they have had a full chance to recover. Pace of play was good. The only place to lose balls was in someone's back yard or water on a couple of holes, so we did not spend much time looking for lost balls. We played with one novice golfer, and he had a good time as well. October 31, 2012
Best 9 hole course in Portland Metro Area Well maintained, neither easy nor extremely difficult. If you don't mind being surrounded by a housing tract you won't find a better 9 hole course in the area. October 5, 2012
Nice place to golf I found the course well maintained and fairly challenging. There are some bare spots and ground under construction but overall in pretty good shape. When the course is busy, they could use some more monitoring. Pace of play can be very slow and on two separate occasions players behind us have hit while we were in range. October 5, 2012
great for a quick 9 Although just 9 holes, Claremont has a good variety and lets you work on your all-around play. The most frustrating part is no practice facilities other than a small practice green. September 26, 2012
Much better options in the area I have been to this course three times and have never been treated with a friendly attitude. They are not unprofessional but seem to be almost bothered by your presence when you check in at the front desk. The course is built in between a housing development and is really very unattractive compared to so many other courses in the West Portland area. If you come from AZ or NV, you will be used to such course as most of theirs are built with fairways lined by somebody's back yard. But, after I observed many of the Oregon courses that are set within such beautiful landscapes, it is hard to justify this ugly little course when you can do so much better for the same price at other nearby options. I will not play here anymore. September 26, 2012
Claremont is fun to play. Claremont is a fairly easy course but has small, well-kept greens. The setup of the fairways is good. Hole #2 provides the biggest challenge; it is long and has a huge tree in the right hand side of the fairway about 100 yards out from the green. You have to play the hole wisely to score on this par 5. Claremont is a public use of a private course so don't expect to use any of the amenities (clubhouse). A fun little course to play if you are not to serious about the game. September 25, 2012
