Royal Niagara Golf Club

Royal Niagara Golf Club is a "must play" course of international standing. Playing over 7,000 yards from the tips, the 27 hole course features sculpted fairways, undulating greens, cavernous bunkers, and an abundance of water. Nestled between the historic 120-year-old Welland Canal, the beautiful Bruce Trail, and the Niagara Escarpment, Royal Niagara is a stunning course to experience.

With three impressive 9-hole courses; The Escarpment Course, The Iron Bridge Course, and The Old Canal Course, Royal Niagara is built to the highest championship standards. Each nine is balanced in terms of length and challenge, and the result is three very unique nine hole golf courses.

Royal Niagara Golf Club was designed by Architect Ted Baker, renowned for his work on numerous golf courses, including Brampton's Lionhead Golf & Country Club. Crafted in the best traditions of golf course design, Royal Niagara is a masterpiece: "This will be the finest golf course in the Niagara Region," declares Ted Baker.

Location is an important aspect in the creation of a great golf course, however the architect's ability to blend the course with the surrounding greenery is equally significant. "A great golf course should come out of the landscape effortlessly, as if the holes were already there," explains Ted Baker, who further states, "I design good golf courses. Once every ten years I get to design a great golf course. Royal Niagara is what I believe to be truly great."

shame you can't rate 0 stars! This was by far the worst course I have played in Canada. For $50 I thought this would be a decent track but it ended up being a quirky mess of a layout with the WORST greens I have played in a long time. I would not expect such bad conditions on a football field, never mind a golf course. Avoid at all costs - there are so many better courses nearby for the same or less money... April 7, 2013
The course was in great shape. Very few leaves as comparded to other courses this time of year. The course was in great shape. Great fare ways. Greens were a little slow due to sand and aeration. Other wise it was great value for the money. November 22, 2012
End of Season Game On November 20th, for the first time play for us, this course was enjoyable. November 21, 2012
good shape for the time of year november course is in good shape, the greens where a little rough, but not bad considering very few golfers fix thier ball marks November 20, 2012
Course well featured and good. Next time will paly again. Course was not so easy. However it worth to play. Green condition well maintained. But it/s not easy to check distance because there was not distance mark on the course. November 14, 2012
Challenging but course directions could be better Very nice couse, a little wet due to recent rain but still in very good condition October 22, 2012
great layout and hole variety, i was dissapointed with the conditions of the greens and tee boxes. everything was good for the price but i was surprised at how poor the greens and tee boxes were. October 21, 2012
Challenging course. Great course but greens and tee blocks need attention October 20, 2012
Spend Your Hard-earned money somewhere else Wow, what a difference a few years make. I golfed here two years ago and the condition of this course has dropped off horribly. If you want to golf at a top notch course in the Niagara Region, there are numerous others in better condition than this. To suggest that this is a high class course and not offer GSP of any kind, sprinkler heads not marked with yardage, and no "course playbook", is disappointing (to say the least). The tee boxes were uneven and covered in divots, the greens were filled with ball marks, the fairways super soggy (during a summer of record low rain). The high point was that I was greeted professionally by the Marshall and was provided an electric cart - but the battery was shot and barely got me up any of the holes on their "escarpment" course. When i ran into the Marshall again, he said to just swap it out at the turn. When I did, I got a 2nd cart with just as much power as the first. The company motto is suggesting a "golf experience second to none". I'd recommend the owners of Kaneff Golf make a surprise visit and see just how poorly the condition of this course is in. course was in fall condition It was ok but was airraided & over seeded. Starter was not friendly & cart needed work done. October 10, 2012
Well maintained course Royal Niagara offers a mix of challenging hazards and well maintained fairways and greens. It rained earlier in the day and there were some wetspots in low areas of the course. The pace was decent although that may have been influenced by the volume at the course and the rainy weather that day. I would definately go back and recommend this course. October 10, 2012
ROYAL NIAGARA IT WAS AVERAGE MAINTAINED GREENS WHERE NOT CUT VERY SLOW VERY WET IN THE FAIRWAYS October 9, 2012
Over-priced for the conditions Over-watered course in middle of drought; Drives plugging in fairways ! 90 degree rule for carts? Because of over-watering, greens uncut & tee decks overgrown & weedy and in need of leveling/widening. Electric cart died 4 holes into rnd. 2nd time this happened in 4 rnds. played there. Never again. September 26, 2012
Not worth it I booked a very cheap tee time for late Saturday afternoon. Pace of play was slow even for a weekend. The tee boxes were in horrible shape with weeds growing out. The areas around the pins were very bumpy, and it looked like they haven't been moved all week. There are so many better options in the Niagara region so I would not bother with Royal Niagara. with the price and condition of the course, it's still worth to take 1 hour drive from mississauga. This is our first time to play in this course and found it a very pleasant day. The course if quite well maintain compare to other Kaniff course in Milton. We save some money to book through Golfbow on this one but would like to see more saving if booking a day or 2 in advance. September 24, 2012
Great! Great job and staff. The reservation confirmation when completed was not sent to the course, but they were able to rectify the situation quickly and get us on the course. September 23, 2012
Nice course but needs some serious TLC This once was, and could still be a nice course if they would put some cash into it. I played it twice in a 2 week span and was not impressed. The tees were all chewed up, we found ourselves having to move the tee markers. The traps were rough with little sand in them. Greens were okay but a little pock-marked from inconsiderate golfers. We got part way down the first hole and the charge light came on in our cart. We found the cart was struggling to climb hills. We called the Pro shop to let them know and we were told that they were all like that. We finally got a new cart on the back nine and it was slower than the first! We had the same problem a week later...very slow carts that make for long rounds. Then we had a cart girl who tried to squeeze by our cart and scraped the side of it. All in all, I won't be going back this year. I'll try them again in the spring and see if any thing has improved. September 22, 2012
more difficult than people expect great value! challenging from the blues and tips. greens could be better cut and maintained but the cost for a decent course is unbeatable. September 21, 2012
Great Cost for Course The course is normally in good condition any time of year. I have played all 3 9 hole layouts and there is at least one green on each 9 that seems to have a hard time staying in good condition. With that being said, it never effects the hole that much. Good for all players with multiple tees and the further back you go, the harder the course plays. Not overly long but the layouts offer playability and doesn't penalize you for missing the occasional fairway. Escarpement is my favourite. I score well on it so thats probably why. Iron Bridge and Old Canel are tied for second. September 21, 2012
Going Down Hill Every time I play here it seems the condition continues to go down hill. Staff not so friendly. September 20, 2012
