Thundering Waters Golf Club

Thundering Waters Golf Club

Thundering Waters Golf Club is John Daly's first signature golf course in Canada, located within the Niagara Falls' Fallsview Tourist District and a mere 1,500 yards from the Horseshoe Falls.

Designed in collaboration with Canadian golf architect Bo Danoff, Thundering Waters reflects John's risk-for-reward style of play on a course that combines parkland tranquility of Augusta National with the heathland treachery of British Open Championship golf. Fourteen of the holes wind though a forest of mature maple, oak and hickory trees. The remaining holes are links styles: rugged hills covered with long grasses, cavernous bunkers, windswept fairways and undulated greens framed by a winding burn.

Thundering Waters Golf Club 4.1 5 12 12
Not a long course but must be carefull where you place the ball The tee boxes and greens in very good shape. The farways are very soggie but its that time of year. Take a few extra balls with you as you will loose a couple to plugging in the farway. This is the fourth time I have played it this year and enjoy it every time. The only complante I have is the bunkers are very poor and have been all year. They are in need of alot more sand. October 25, 2012
This course makes you feel like you're really out in nature with the way it has been carved out of the local landscape of trees and water. The course was in great shape with with well trimmed grass and not many leaves for this time of year. The greens putted true even with some sand on them for winter prep. The sand traps weren't reworked since the latest rain so we raked a spot and replaced the ball. The five tee levels accomodate all players so we played from the whites which were just over 5000 yards. Due to the difficulty of the course it made it seem like 6000 at other courses but I loved the challenge this course provides. October 23, 2012
This course is short but still has some shot makers holes which cause it to be a bit more difficult. Nice course. Couple of goofy holes like the first and seventh holes. I would play again and like the course. It is generally in good shape but was very wet the day I played. October 22, 2012
This course does have awesome features. Thundering Waters golf club is a course that has every golfer mesmerized by the outstanding manicured look to the course and the name helps sell it! We have played this course back to back weekend and even with mother nature giving the course a soaking to make it cart path only and the bunkers full of water,it still was an awesome day at the course! Looking forward to playing again next weekend already! Great way to spend a sunday on the course in October! Staff is awesome and match the course! Good job! October 15, 2012
Make this part of your "To-Golf" list Although I played this course 5 days after the greens were air-raided, I can still see the potential. I'm certain that during any other time of the year, this course would be impressive for anyone. This is the first year that I've taken a week off work for my "Stay-cation" and decided to golf nothing but local golf courses all week long. Thundering Waters did not disappoint. The highlight of my round was the combination of tee-time (7:33am = no one else except grounds crew on course), and in cart flat screen GPS monitors. I will certainly be back again next year, hopefully more often than just during my Golf "Stay-cation" October 13, 2012
Shot Makers Course! This. Course will sharpen your short game and will reward the long "Daley" like hitter with reachable par 4's and FIVE par 5's all within reach. Don't get off line though or you will be reaching into the bag for balls!! October 8, 2012
Exceeded expectations Had read many unflattering reviews of this course. Especially since the changes have occurred. I purchased a hot deal tee time. I arrived and was met by very attentive, friendly course staff. Starter was very cordial and introduced me to my fellow patrons. I played the round with three gentlemen who'd played the course in both of its iterations. We played the course from a combo of blue/black tees. They had decided this was the best approximation of the original layout. I found the condition of the course to be above average for public use courses in Niagara. No real quirky holes to ruin the round. Greens were challenging and in good condition. I will be playing this course again. It is a good value for the price. October 4, 2012
Precise driver needed If you are wild with the driver you may not like this course..Take the advice of the starter and play Blue if you shoot in the 80's. Blacks if you shoot in the 70's October 4, 2012
Great Course Be Ready For A Challenge This course if beautiful and is a great layout. Narrow fairways and several bunkers make it a real challenge and a score can really escalate on any given hole. A must play anytime you are in Niagara. October 4, 2012
Interesting unique layout! Staff was very helpful from the start. The course was in excellent condition. Most bunkers were obvious BUT if you play it for the first time check the card for hidden traps and danger areas. A more detailed booklet would be helpful or GPS. Black tees were very challenging on some holes for a 20 handicapper. All in all the course was very fair for all levels of play. September 28, 2012
not coming back staff very rude, unfriendly and no manners in particular the starter September 28, 2012
Felt like I was playing on a course you see the pros on This course was so well maintained and in such great conditions with the lack of rainfall this year. I will and have recommended this course to friends and family and will be back to play many times. September 21, 2012
