COBBLE BEACH GOLF LINKS is set along spectacular bluffs on the rugged shoreline of Georgian Bay. The course was designed with the clubhouse and the finishing holes of each nine perched along the water's edge, with undulating terrain and dramatic elevation changes exposing spectacular views of Georgian Bay from every hole.

Cobble Beach has been sculpted to emulate the rugged hummocky terrain found on the great links courses of Scotland and Ireland. Small pot bunkers, closely mown chipping areas and hollows surrounding the greens provide the fast running, bump and run characteristics typical of the great links courses.

With Cobble Beach Golf Links, Doug Carrick has crafted a course that calls to mind the game's legendary seaside locations. Each nine winds its way through open meadow edged with mature woodlands, rising to provide commanding views of the course and Georgian Bay beyond and then returning to the shore for a memorable finish along the bluffs.

The generous rippling fairways call for strategic decisions influenced by the day's hole locations; the large and receptive greens are easy to find, but their undulations guarantee a challenging two-putt if your approach is too far from the flag. The links-like character is revealed in the run of the turf, the billowing fescue rough, the pot bunkers that lurk to catch the errant shot, the surrounding contours of the greens and the off -water breezes. Cobble Beach is a course you can play and where you can have a lot of fun as the views are extraordinary even if your golf isn't.

Vista wonderful Great condition with fantastic vistas and an overall great experience. The greens are fast, large and undulating. The fairways are well groomed, with a good number of traps and wide enough to make your game enjoyable. The front nine allows you to get into rythum. The back nine attacks that rythum right from the get go on #10. You never stop climbing and you keep looking at your card to see if there is a misprint on the yardage. The 12th hole is challenging with the water yearning to swallow the ball the full length of the hole and numerous traps to eat up your drives along the right side. After surviving the 12th you do not get a breather with the #1 handicap Rob's gulch. The rest of the holes do not seem to get any easier since the course has broken your mental game. But rest assure that the last two holes makes it all worthwhile when you look out on the Owen Sound with the sailboats and fishing boats bobbing in the water. No matter the score you want to come back. October 5, 2012

Fabulous course with excellent views of Georgian Bay for excellent price Cobble Beach is a gem; definitely a must play for any intermediate golfer.Fairways are pristine, and the greens are quick , but true. Staff are very friendly, and pace of play is very good. We were able to play the round in just over 4 hrs., and when we did come up to a slower group, they waved us through( just the way it should be). Highly recommend this golf course for anyone vacationing, or travelling in the area. Looking forward to play again. September 23, 2012
