This is a great course for the buck!
First and foremost the staff is extremely friendly and is always ready to help in any way possible. The fees are very reasonable and the course although not perfect, is great for any golfer who wants to hone his/her game or to have a pleasant experience for the day. Book a tee time at Cedar Trace and find out for yourself, it's worth it!

back nine has some good features
only played back nine, they were aerating front nine the day we played, was not told until we arrived

slow play
There should be some guidelines on not allowing golfer to start on the back nine ahead of golfers coming off the front nine.

This course has many distinctive holes that are very challenging.
I rate the course very good. The holes are very distinctive. The staff are always very friendly and accommodating.

Just a bad day to play on this course...
The front nine greens were being aerated when I played. I could only play the back nine (twice). It had just rained so the course was sloppy. I would like to go back at a later date. The course seems in good shape otherwise.

First time
This was a last minute deal that we got for a SUPER cheap price. I had never heard of this course before, but we were pleasantly surprised upon our arrival. The people working the "proshop" were very friendly, and informed us that we were getting free lunch with our round. They also gave us a course "cheat sheet" to help us out. Once we started playing, we found the course to be in good to fair shape, it needed a little work on the fairways, but the rough was thick. All in all, I would play this course again.

good layout, conditioning could be better
Condition: not very good during August drought, greens+fairways were greening up and much improved when last played on 9/16/2012.
Design / Layout: good natural design on a very good piece of land out in the country. 3 of the 4 par 3's have decent elevation drops from tee to green. Par 3 11th is a brute(borderline ridiculous). Great risk-reward 18th hole is a short, downhill, dogleg left par 4 with a 3-tiered green that is driveable if you can hit it high quickly enough to get over the trees.
Staff: hassle free, friendly(let me play a couple free practice holes while waiting on playing partner to arrive).
