The Neuse Golf Club 4.2 5 32 32
This course provides the best challenge for a fair price. I've played almost all of the public courses in the Raleigh/Durham area and The Neuse is by far my favorite. The course is well maintained throughout the year and provides a challenge for all types of players. I'm always impressed with how well the staff takes care of the course, the greens especially. With the great rates on GolfNow, The Neuse simply can't be matched in the area. April 4, 2013
Best Value in Raleigh Easily the best course for the price in The Raleigh area. Never too crowded, great staff, and the choice of tee boxes makes the course challenging. I always find the course in great shape no matter what time of year. March 24, 2013
Great deal! We weren't expecting anything when we drove from Durham where we were visiting our daughter to play here, but were very pleasantly surprised. The staff were very accommodating, allowing us to go out early as a twosome & we played in 3.5 hours. The greens were in superb shape, & many of the holes, particularly on the back 9 were very tricky as well as scenic. We can't wait to play there again when there is more foliage, making it not only prettier, but visually daunting. Great value, would highly recommend. March 17, 2013
Good course at a good value I have played this course several times and always look forward to it. Challenging layout but very fair.....several blind shots, but not much target golf. Staff is friendly and the grounds crew does a nice job keeping the course in good shape. The greens were in excellent condition allowing for a true roll. March 12, 2013
Well maintained, friendly staff While it was just one day after quite a bit of rain, for the most part the course as in good shape. Greens were especially impressive and rolled true. Lots of challenging holes but none that seem un-playable. Staff was to a person very friendly and open to chat. I think the Neuse is the best-maintained and most enjoyable course I have played in Raleigh. February 28, 2013
Nice course don't play it when it is wet. Nice course but the day we played was wet. Cart path only makes the course even longer. Greens were in great shape and rolled well. Will not play it again when it is wet. Will recommend to my friends and I will play it again when it is dry. The fee through Golfnow was really good. Enjoyed the round. February 25, 2013
Great layout. Played on 2/15/13. Greens in great condition, fairways a little wet. Fun, fair course with elevation changes and side hill lies. Some strong par 4's. Very good value. Will be back when everything greens up! February 22, 2013
One of the best golf courses around Raleigh I haven't golfed every course in the Raleigh area, but I have visited quite a few and this is the best course I've played yet. Everything, from the driving range to the clubhouse to the course itself, is in pristine shape. The course is challenging, but average players like myself can still have a good time. I really enjoyed all of the elevation changes and the overall course design. It is definitely worth the drive from Raleigh and I will come back and play here again. February 21, 2013
Challenging and well-maintained This course is awesome and challenging. Lay-out of course is challenging, green speed is fast and fairway is well maintained. The only thing to be improved is some wet ground near the green at several holes. February 5, 2013
Very WET Course was very WET. Extremely challenging especially to hit the ball flush. Any kind of thin or fat shot made to hole difficult. It was hard to get going since the driving range was closed again due to a very wet course. I would wait another week or so and allow the course to dry out. January 31, 2013
Good condition for January and great price We had a great outing, and definitely enjoyed the course which was in pretty good shape, especially for mid-January. I'll definitely be back again once the weather warms. January 21, 2013
This course requires thoughtful shots Great course. Many different styles of holes. Some up & down, some straight ahead, etc....Great par 3's. I would have to say that is doesn't drain too well but other than that, no flaws. Worth the drive into Clayton. January 14, 2013
Greens are in great shape! Fast Nice course! Greens were very fast and true. Don't be above the hole January 11, 2013
Excellent condition, nice layout. Loved the course. Nice variety of holes. The greens were in outstanding condition. I am not the straightest off the tee but felt very comfortable driving here. Will definitely return next time in Raleigh. January 3, 2013
Very Fun Track The course was in great condition given the amount of rain that fell the day before. The range was closed which was disappointing. It was a very fair course with a lot of challenging pin positions. I will definitely come back to play this course again. December 29, 2012
Always a solid choice!! I'm from the area and we play The Neuse fairly often. The course is usually well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. I think it is a fair and challenging layout. The course does play long so if you plan on playing the tips you better have your BIG BOY pants on!! December 21, 2012
Challenging course. Friendly staff. Course was in good condition for the time of year. Extremely challenging. Look forward to playing it during peak season. Staff was friendly and helpful. December 18, 2012
GolfNow has changed Golf! Since GolfNow came out, Ive been able to play better courses which used to be out of my budget. Cant wait for more courses to join the bandwagon! December 3, 2012
Play this course, great value for the money. I have played this course for years. The course conditions are always good. A great value for the money. Pace of play satisfactory. November 20, 2012
This course is in great shape! I like this course, the pace of play and the staff make this a very enjoyable round of golf. November 20, 2012
Can't make up my mind Can't make up my mind about the Neuse. It has some beautiful holes on the back 9, and it has variety in terms of design. But there are some things that regardless of the circumstance don't sit right with me, things like OB on both side of the hole, OB on one side and red staked on the other. You need some bailout. Additionally, and I found this especially true of the front 9, I felt a little claustrophobic being surrounded by houses and the whirring sound of leave blowers for much of the day. Greens and fairways were in excellent shape for this time of the year, but I would suggest some additional work on drainage. Lotta mud and moisture for it being so dry. November 17, 2012
Great value and fun to play Course was well maintained overall. It was a lot of fun to play except for the slow group in front of us. November 10, 2012
Great to play in off season Without the crowd there bc of the cold weather and the value with golfnow made it worth driving 45 min to head out and play a well maintain course even in bad weather November 7, 2012
Plays like a country club without the country club price! The course is well maintained and challenging from any tee box. Each hole has it's own character and is well thought out. Any golfer at an intermediate level or above can enjoy The Neuse. October 22, 2012
This course was in good condition The course was in cood condition, but the greens need to be cut. They were pretty slow for weekend play. Also, range balls $6 small bucket and $11 for large. This course is not at the level of Pinehurst, Finley, or Tobacco Road, and I would expect the ppricing to be somewhere similar to local courses. Just a thought. October 22, 2012
Great course trouble a first tee This course was in excellent condition. The greens rolled true with subtle breaks that made scoring low difficult but fair. They would hold the approach shots but were fast and consistent. The rough was tough and made you make a decision on your approach. The course is a little short from the blues but rough made up for it. There was a mix up with the start time as they double booked The golf now time at 9:00 am. The starter wanted to send me out as a single in the middle of a bunch of foursomes which I explained would be miserable so the pushed me back 20 minutes to pair me up. Other than that it was a great experience. October 22, 2012
professional course Bring your A game or you'll be sorry, some spectacular water holes, they have tees for every level it a fade player dream left to right on 70% of the holes swing hard and enjoy the course October 7, 2012
beautiful, resonably challenging course Enjoyed course; played on weekday, beautiful weather, not at all crowded, no one pushing our group. Reasonably challenging for average players with much better than average course conditions. October 5, 2012
I love this place Simply put, the best value I've found in the triangle area in terms of conditions, difficulty, and pace of play. I last played in late September and didn't wait on a single tee box, which is a big deal for me. The greens were fast and true and the elevation change and fairway shape make ball striking and shot shaping very important. If I lived closer, I would play here a lot more often October 4, 2012
Fun, challenging course in great condition This is a beautiful, fun course. Greens and fairways were in perfect condition. The rough is really tough, especially around the greens. The course is fairly easy if you can keep it in the fairway. Lots of elevation changes and some blind shots. Really nice practice area. October 4, 2012
