Dr. Charles L. Sifford's 9 hole golf course was founded in the early 1930`s Revolution Park Golf Course (originally named Bonnie Brae Golf Course) was designed by the Corps of Engineers as an 18 hole layout. The golf course was later condensed to 9 holes and modified once again in the late 1970`s as interstate I-77 was developed. Nestled in beautiful maples, pines, and hardwoods, Revolution Park GC has been donned "Charlotte`s only 9-hole Country Club"! The course averages nearly 32,000 rounds of public play per year and the layout is suitable for all types of players regardless of age, sex or handicap. Many local players call Revolution Park GC their "home course" and play on a regular basis.

Revolution Park Golf course has endured many changes through the years. In the beginning, African Americans were banned from playing the course. But, in the early 1950`s, legal action prompted Revolution Park GC (named The Bonnie Brae Golf Course at that time) to open play to all races. The 12 gentleman filing the suit, on behalf of all minorities, were granted the right to play Revolution Park in 1957 through a Supreme Court Ruling.

Revolution Park GC was later dedicated to 9 gentlemen, each of whom made significant impacts on the course over time. The 9 holes now commemorate each of these individuals and are marked with their names in granite. A sign on the first tee was constructed to honor the first African American to tee off after the legal judgment was handed down from the Supreme Court.

You get what you pay for I don't have many positive or negative things to say about the course. I will say the fairways looked great...very green for this time of year. The greens? They play like 'astroturf.' Honestly, I think the greens are dead grass dyed green. If you're looking for a quick 9 and don't want to pay much, this place is perfect. I recommend it to those who are okay with those conditions. March 18, 2013
Compact and nicely maintained with challenge green. 340 yards par 4 and less than 500 yards par 5.. Short 9 hole course, but around green is a bit difficult. Well maintained course and very enjoyable with 11 bucks.. January 14, 2013
Good alternative course I have been in public courses and this one is well maintained. In my opinion, really Good course for a quick match (9 holes). Challenging fairways and greens. Unbeatable price with hot deals. Last time I paid $11 round of 9. November 9, 2012
This course isn't extremely long but don't fool yourself! It can be difficult. I tend to play here a lot because it is easy to get to being just outside of uptown. Very good place to go to get your golf fix! November 8, 2012
