Always a good course to play. Good condition Played The Pearl many times, both east and west course. Played east course today. Was in good condition, especially the greens. They were a little slow, but typical for the season. Somewhat challenging course. Some narrow fairways with water and/or sand just where you don't want it. But a very enjoyable course for the price. Lots of forest around. Have seen deer and fox not to mention a few gators. December 9, 2014
nice affordable round of golf The course was in very good condition and certainly challenging , played from the proper tees. Pace was good until we got to # 10 when the staff had started some groups on the back nine. October 30, 2014
Interesting course The Peal East had a nice layout and some challenging holes. The day we played it was cart paths only and rained for the first 4 holes. After that, the course was of course still very wet, but playable. Would definitely play again in better weather. October 17, 2014
Pearl East Good layout and great staff, challenging greens but a fair test from the proper tees, will be back soon! September 10, 2014
Forces you to think about each shot The Pearl East layout differs a lot from hole to hole. Sometimes you need to carry water, hit a fade around a dog leg flanked by thick trees or punch a ball under hanging limbs. Greens were in great condition and rolled very true. Staff was friendly. The only strange thing is that the last tee time is at 3:30. I finished my round ten minutes after (3:40) and wasnt allowed to go back out for a replay of their West Course. Definitely a good value for the local rate. July 22, 2014
Great value A great course considering the rate you will pay. The staff was also very friendly and accomadating. Greens were in excellent condition but some work could be attended to near the sides of the greens, those areas were a little shabby. Otherwise the course was a very beautiful track through the Carolina pines. July 20, 2014
Nice place to play Overall, for February after an ice storm, the course was in great shape. Layout is above average. Greens are excellent - quick for this area, especially this time of year. Course was pretty empty due to cold/wind so I breezed around quickly. Pro, starter, cart guy, etc. the entire staff was great! Looking forward to going back! February 16, 2014
Another Dan Maples Gem Staff was friendly, especially the cart attendant who was a wealth of information. Carts were allowed everywhere, which was a little surprising as there were a few wet spots, but it did make for an under 4 hour round. Played the east course, which has converted to mini-verde bermuda greens. Being a northerner, it took a bit of adjustment, but the greens were in very good shape for December. The course mostly runs through Carolina hardwood forest, but the last three holes do run along the salt marsh. The marsh besides being very scenic, adds the chance of the wind coming into play. I have yet to play a Dan Maples design that I did not find challenging yet fun to play. December 6, 2013
