Too hot Played on 100 degree day, high humidity. Course Tee box to green excellent shape. Greens had some rough spots. Pro shop did advise of this and gave us coupon for replay of $30 as an "apology" prior to playing. I have a second residence there, but the coupon expires in a week, not much use to me. Had course practically to ourselves. Pearl is always a good choice in the Myrtle area. July 12, 2015
Everything but the greens. The course is in good shape, the staff friendly and helpful. The only problem some of the greens have some rough patches or a fungus growing on them. They are working on solving the problem, only effects your play if you have to putt across that spot. July 11, 2015
The Pearl Should be on your Must-Play List I played the East course. Most of the holes wander through pine forest, but the last three have excellent views of marsh that borders the intracoastal waterway. The greens have MiniVerde Bermuda grass and are very receptive to approach shots. They had been verticut and top-dressed, but still putted O.K. Fairways and sand traps were in excellent condition. The starters and beverage girl were very friendly; I was virtually invisible to the pro shop staff. Oh well, I saved $50 I otherwise would have spent on a new shirt. I played as a single behind a foursome (who would not let me play through) and finished in just under four hours. July 4, 2015
Deceitful description. What you first need to know, assuming you haven't played Pearl West and are intrigued by the "links" description, is that it is not at all a links course. It is simply a wide open course. The greens are in great shape but they are extremely slow for what a links course would offer. The fairways are wide open with an occasional bunker or dogleg, but they clearly hadn't been mowed in three or four days making them far too slow for a links design. Pearl West is a real nice, wide open golf course. But if, like our group, you get excited about the opportunity to play a links-style course, please make your reservation elsewhere. You will be sorely disappointed with Pearl West. July 1, 2015
Jczy Friendly staff Greens not greatest Great layout Pace of play Under 4 hours June 13, 2015
Definitely not high season at the Pearl Golf shop stock was sparse. Tee boxes and fairways were average. Greens were horrible. June 8, 2015
long-n- lean Great layout, a few wet spots but over all in great condition. Greens were fast, traps were a bit hard, no two holes alike and played as marked although some PGA fairway markers did not coincide with GPS yardages. Very fair and clean with a nice range and putting green. Would definitely recommend and prepare for a fun challenging day... April 7, 2015
great greens course was in very good condition a little wet after rain cart path only ,true greens in very good condition for early spring better than the 30 other courses we played this winter March 27, 2015
