New York Country Club We got a deal through for $39/player. It was my first time playing at the course and pulling up to the ritzy country club like entrance/clubhouse was an initial sign it would be an above average course. We played on a cloudy breezy April day, which made the course play harder than I believe it is. The greens were fast yet true (loved these greens); very good shape for early April. There are several holes were the elevation change is quite the site, quite the challenge, which makes for a fun round. Challenging course, friendly staff, above average greens... I would recommend a visit here if you can swing a deal. I'll be going back! April 9, 2014
The ninth hole is a disaster and should be changed to a par 3 from a par 4. A goat would have an issue trying to weave its way to the green! The ninth hole is a disaster, it should be changed to a par 3 from 4. A goat would have issues trying to weave its way to the green! Spectacular scenery however may lead me back to this course. Also the greens were fast and smooth, but difficult to hold if chipping around the perimeter. October 30, 2013
This time of year is just perfect to experience this course. The foliage is breathtaking. This course is great! This course has it all! It is as challenging as it is breathtaking. The foliage and the scenic views are incredible. The greens as well as the fairways are kept in pristene condition. Truly a must experience!! October 28, 2013
The course have a nice view. Beautiful course, thanks to golf now we can go & play a lot of diferent courses. NYCC, is oneof my favorite courses. Nice fairway, & beautiful greens. Beautiful view from hole # 1, 9,10, & 18. I defenily, go back!! October 28, 2013
Beautiful setting and well maintained Beautiful setting up in the hills with views of Manhattan. Greens were extremely fast when I played so it was hard to stick the ball on the sloped & undulating greens. A number of two tiered greens, and a few very funky holes (#9) detracted from an otherwise fantastic golf course. I'll definitely play it again soon. October 23, 2013
Good Challenge Long day So it's the fall and the days are getting shorter. Beware when the weather is nice. This course will be very busy and it will be a long day. Enjoy the views and the challenge and be patient. Moderate to Fast Greens with subtle breaks will be a good test for any golfer at this scenic rockland county course. I ask all courses to please ask golfers to play at the tees that reflect their skill level. BLUE/BLACK should NOT be played by 20 handicappers PLEASE!!! October 15, 2013
Some strange holes. Proshop service and course personnel service wonderful. Grill room noisy and unpleasant. Service and food though very good. Well maintained course. Enough speed on greens. Players are not repairing ball marks. Shame on all of us. Same holes really strange, like 9 and 10. Some nice par 4s and par 5s. Played well on par 3s, so they felt good too. Will go back every now and then. September 22, 2013
slow play!! missing signage for next hole!! More than 5 hours taken in the Thursday afternoon. We started about noon (12:30). September 21, 2013
