Mosholu Golf Course
Good value and easy access
I've been playing here for over 5 years. This is not a course where you should expect sterling conditions, but for the price it's a good value. Very fun course for beginners or those who don't play too often and a good course for more advanced golfers to fine tune parts of their game. The chipping and putting area is the best in the city and the staff is always friendly. It does get crowded at times because it's the HQ for The First Tee, but we should be happy that younger people are getting involved!

Poor management, poor pace
Possibly one of the most poorly managed courses in the tri-state area, epitomizing the waste of government employees. There is no management at the course - of the driving range or of the course-- no one is managing when people tee off or the pace of play on the course. the ladies booking tee times don't know how to manage the calendar or care. They regularly lose your reservation. There is typically one 100 year old ranger and he doesn't do anything-- he isn't watching to make sure the players are moving. You have to call to get a ranger to come out- unlike for example Sterling in Stamford, where multiple rangers make sure people are moving and not holding up gaggles of players. Here you can wait 10 minutes to tee off between holes as people just putz around. It full of bad golfers run amok-- no one cares abut the pace of play or the rules. and the sand traps are infested with bees and nothing was done about it. not an enjoyable or relaxing experience.

1st Round at Mosholu
It was my first round - while I was disappointed that there are only 9 holes - I was glad that they had an excellent pitch and putt practice area as well as a driving range.
I took a couple of first time golfers and they loved the course - it probably helped that there wasn't a single par 5.

Is this a 9-hole Golf Now reservation?
Mosholu is a 9-hole course, but I expected my fee to cover a normal 18-hole round. When I ran into camp kids playing during my second nine, I was told otherwise, even though Golf Now's reservation says nothing about 9 holes only.
Otherwise, the course is lovely.

Great nine hole course in the beautiful Bronx!
I've been playing Mosholu for more than a decade. It's been getting better each year!

Made an adjustment to my grip recommended by an instructor, and was astounded by the results. The course is 9 holes with a 32 Par, and somewhat narrow fairways. Improved my game by shooting a 40 for the round. I think the course is designed for accuracy, and in the summer time there is a large turnout of kids which is a good place to start learning. The scenery is great, and the ninth hole gives a championship feeling because you are facing the clubhouse where all the spectators are and you must produce. Cant wait for my next session.

Great 9 hole course
It's the best practice facility's in the city. No rush play and well kept.

all to myself
Started at 8:30 all alone on the course. No pressure. Beautiful weather, surprised myself getting to the green with a birdie shot, on several occasions. Had a few Pars, felt my game improved.
