Greens were in terrible condition, aerating is necessary, but it looks like it was done with someone running around with a pair of football cleats.

GREAT LAYOU BUT NEEDS LOVE
Great Gorge is a 27 hole facility that offers beautiful views and a wonderful layout that includes forced carries over water, both wide and narrow fairways, long and short par 5s and par 4's but the course seems like an extra to the Crystal Springs Resort which owns Great Gorge. The staff is very young and while they are friendly they don't care. It is like a summer job. needs a better drainage sysyem and better care of greens, fairways and tee boxes. Much better courses nearby but you might get a deal that is too good to pass up. Lacks amenities including a quality putting green and driving range. Great wild life. You might see a fox or a bear. Bring a camera!

great shape but need better management
It's just o.k. But, I would not recommend this golf course specially in wet season.

Good 'ol Great Gorge Country Club
GGCC is a must play. 27 holes of goodness. Rail to Lake is the traditional way to play it. The "Quarry" nine is challenging. Not as maintained as it used to be, well, with the Crystal Springs expansion of courses.

greens were great, fairways have come back well. new cart paths on half
of lake side - makes it so much better!!!

35 Dollars for 27 holes, can't beat that deal!
Played 10/17 9am, Quarry/Rail finished 1st 18 in under 3.5 hours, then played the Lake,we saw maybe 10 people, more Deer & Foxes then people. Course in very nice shape, greens when they dried out were quick, cart path only due to wet local conditions.
Overall a very nice day.

The course has great design.
Compare to the other golf courses operate by Crystal Spring. This one need more attention in maintenance. Otherwise it's a great course.

good course for the money some of the holes require attention. the downstairs staff is always nice and accomodating the upstairs staff is a bit dismissive

Course was challenging yet fair
Had a great time. Patrons and staff were the most friendly. Course was in great shape, greens rolled true, layout was challenging yet fair and each hole was different from the other, making it a very interesting round.

Greens, tees, bunkers and faiways all needed work. Disapointed.

Good place to visit but overcrowded and only half of the course is nice
This course has some pretty nice features but the lakes that surrounded the place were covered in very nasty brown algea. Some of the courses tee boxes were nothing but dirt and the abandoned hotel on the property was very un appealing. you sure can have some fun here but I would personally rather go somewhere else. The good course to play on is the quarry and avoid the lakes it was not good at all. I Haven't played the rail

Nice course, very scenic, but needs a lot of work.
First let me say that I like the course, but years of neglect and the flodding of 2011 have taken a toll. I think that if the owners put a little money and effort into this course it will be a great track. It looks like they are starting to make some improvements but it will take a lot more time and effort to make it worth the trip for me.(About an hour drive for me

Initial appearance when you enter the parking lot has a lot to be desired, sign posted at wrong spot to inform golfers there's a bag drop off at top of the hill. The course overall was in good shape other than maybe a few burnt out spots on some fairways. Hard to judge if we were just unlucky with the group in front of us because out round took a very long time to complete, only spotted the Ranger on one hole and he rode on by. Club house seemed to be in nice condition and carts were well maintained, would play this course again in the future.
