The South Nine is a little more open than the other nines and has more undulating greens. On your starting hole on this nine, a short par-4 (365 from the back tees and 251 from the forward), you’ll be hitting from tee boxes with a long waste area off to the left. It’s probably best to use a fairway wood or long iron off the tees as this hole requires more accuracy than muscle. The green is heavily protected by a horseshoe of bunkers.

One of the favorites on the South Course is No. 4, which plays 439 yards from the back tees and 339 from the forward and can be played straight ahead or off to the right to stay safely clear of the sand. “You’ll find a big waste area on the left that requires something of a carry off the tee,” says Assistant PGA Golf Professional Doug Delaney says. “Then there’s another one that crosses the fairway, about 100 yards away from the green.”

great course, burned out around greens needs to grow back after hot summer, sandy and long winter March 18, 2013
GOOD COUSE FOR THE DAY. Course was in good shape, but need a little maintance bunkers needed dragging, sand was to hard and you could not get a clean shot. Trees down need clearing and some on the greens. Course was otherwise in good shape for all the rain and storm we have had the past three monthes. March 12, 2013
Like the course layout. Visually impressive. Condition was not a good as I have seen in the past. Some green skirts were in pretty bad shape. Fallen leaves need to be removed from areas just off the fairway. Otherwise, its in good winter shape. January 14, 2013
Great features, good challanger This course offered plenty of challange for me, (a senior citizen), and a great challange for my grandson, (a teenager). I would recommend the course for any golfer from scratch to high handicaper but don't forget your sand wedge. December 9, 2012
First time playing here Course was in really good shape for this time of year. First time playing here, and it was a tough course, Lots of bunkers make you play you ball correctly to stay out of trouble. Also first time using Golfnow and found it very easy to use. Great experience. November 13, 2012
The course was a great place to spend Veteran's Day. The course was in great shape considering it is November and less than two weeks since "Sandy" visited NJ. The fairways were perfect and the greens were rolling fast and smooth. Sixty degrees and November rates made for a wonderful day. Staff was friendly and pase of play was very good for a Sunday. Could not beat the "hot deal" tee time. November 12, 2012
nice track good time decent course, watch for buying drinks you have to register three days in adv. November 2, 2012
south course was in great condition, overall a great value Excellent greens and the south course was immaculate. Great day of golf November 2, 2012
great layout... awful conditions Played here at the end of August.. Got a very cheap rate from golfnow.com or I would have been very disappointed.. For an upscale place as this has been, the fairways and tees were just awful.. The course has suffered bad loss of grass and you'll find tons of bare spots and diseased areas.. The greens were okay and that made up for some of the other problems. The real shame is that this is a great layout and super challenging track.. I sure hope that they get their act together and get this gem back in good shape.. October 25, 2012
Great Course, Just plugged on fairways. Nice course as usual. Fairways were just plugged so the conditions were not ideal as usual. October 8, 2012
Great Layout, but course needs a lot of work Tee boxes and fairways were horrendous. Greens were nice for the most part but there were some burnt out spots on quite a few of them. Some holes were closed. I hope the management gets their act together because this has a potential to be a great course but it is just maintained very poorly October 7, 2012
Boy this place has got a lot of sand. If you like a course where an emphasis is put on positioning, Sand Barrens is the place. Navigating the fairways through the bunkering requires your attention the whole round. Every hole is different than the last. Thoroughly enjoyable. October 6, 2012
Great Par 5's Course is starting to recover from damage in 2011. The greens have come all the way back and are in great shape. The tee boxes are beat up and the fairways are coming back but on some holes not all the way back. From all the work they are doing I wouldn't doubt that this course will be great in 2013. I would rate the greens 5 out of 5. The fairways 3-4 out of 5 and the teeboxes 2 out of 5. Very nice staff. Will be back this Saturday 10/6/12. October 5, 2012
Will never play here again. The staff is incredibly friendly and was the high point of the round. The tee boxes and fairways are in terrible shape. The sprinklers came on several times while we were trying to tee off. The worst part was that it took over THREE hours to play the front nine. The pace of play was so slow that we skipped the back nine. DEFINITELY not worth the green fees. October 4, 2012
crab grass every where... great layout. . the past 2 years the course has been in terrible shape. Crab grass is every where. Especially at the tees and the fairways. Course needs a lot of work. Good news is they just hired a new greens keeper. You can see the some of the greens starting to come around. It will take a good year for this man to fix the course and that's only if he gets the money to fix it. 9-24-12 September 24, 2012
