The Waukewan A truly beautiful course with great views, well maintained and a very friendly staff. Everything is nice and neat, well organized and you can't beat the late summer weather, price and the casual pace of play. September 16, 2014
Good value for the average golfer Waukewan has small greens and multiple elevation changes. I love to walk here, but there are some uphill climbs. The course is not long, but requires some thought as to shot selection to score well. September 8, 2014
Fun little course This is a great little course for the money. From my experience it is never too busy. We were behind multiple foursomes but only had to wait on the first couple holes. Some tricky tee shots but also some short par 4s and 5s that make it a good track for beginners. September 2, 2014
Horrible Staff and Worst Experience of My Life This golf course is absolutely horrible. The staff is horrible, and they have no idea how to treat anyone with respect. They allowed another group to freely hit balls at us while we were putting on the 18th green, and then the golf "pro" decided it was within proper golf etiquette to yell across the course that it was our responsibility to play faster. I am by no means a pro golfer, but I payed my money to play just like everyone else, and I let everyone who asks me to play through. This is 100% the worst golf course in the state and I hope their owner becomes aware of his poor choice in staff selection. August 18, 2014
Disrespectful Employyes Was yelled at and insulted by course employees and club Pro as we finished the 18th. The Club Pro felt the need to continue insulting us from the Club House stoop as we packed our car to leave. The amount of disrespect in that 5 minute time frame was incredible. Club 'Pro' acted like a child, screaming to insult us as we left. August 18, 2014
For $15., Its About What You'd Expect When my friend Mike said he found a super deal at a course on our way to Lincoln, NH, I was excited. After all how often do you see 18 holes with a cart for $15. per golfer on golfnow.com? Well I think its a pretty regular event at Waukewan. Its an old time course, and once you pull in you will sense that. The staff is very nice, but the golf course has seen better days. There were vast amounts of weeds, crabgrass and dirt in areas of play, including tees and greens. To say some of the holes are "quirky" would be an understatement. We felt our way around and we did marvel at many of the scenic views you get from the high spots on the course. I would say the 9th hole is a very good par 4, that requires two solid shots to get there. The 18th is an odd, short uphill par 4, with a pond in front of the green that makes what would be a long par 3, a lay up par 4. The course is also prone to be wet for several days after a rainstorm. I am sure the staff does the best they can, but they are just dealing with limited resources. I am also sure the local members enjoy their home course at a bargain membership rate. It is that type of course that has a certain niche. I think if you are a good golfer or better, you would be much happier to pass on the bargain rate at Waukewan and play a better quality course at a market rate. August 17, 2014
So Pretty and Fun! Very challenging for me (35 self-calculated handicap) but fun. Lots of water in play; a couple balls lost. Front nine mostly uphill; back nine mostly downhill. Finished in exactly 4 hours -- even with lots of strokes. Able to keep up pretty easily despite sometimes erratic shots and blind targets. Would definitely play Waukewan again. A very nice course.
