Desert Pines Golf Club 3.9 5 18 18
Beautiful course, tight fairways, but still great fun! Very enjoyable early morning of golf. Fairways were in great shape. Greens were showing high use with many unrepaired ball marks. Playing early I was able to avoid the wind and played at my own pace. All-in-all a good golf outing. March 11, 2013
great courses !! really challenging greens to red Tight course with spectacular greens... tough to read but fun March 7, 2013
Nothing Special but Ok Course conditions were good. Only issue was 6 holes were roped off as cart path only. If I knew that I would have carried my bag. Course is walkable but do not know if they allow it. February 25, 2013
Tourist Trap This course is about 15 minutes from the strip so you can imagine the number of people. The good - it was in good shape, the staff were friendly and the rentals were decent quality. The bad - The driving range had matts and automatic ball tee-ers, unfortunately there were only 2 for lefties and they were both broke. The ugly - space is at a premium this close to the strip and the layout is what I call Fore-golf, holes run parrellel and balls come at you from all angles. You hear a ball hit from a nearby tee, then you hear "FORE!". One hit my cart so hard it made my heart skip. There are better golf experiences to be had in Vegas. Take the time to drive away from the strip and play real desert golf. February 22, 2013
Would play again Great course for a vacation round with some nice distant views of surrounding mountains and the strip. Staff very friendly and facility is in really good shape. Water in play on 6-7 holes. Not a lot of driver needed from the middle tees around 6400 yds. Player has decision to make from the tee usually long iron/hybrid is plenty since accuracy is the game here. Good mix of par 3 lengths, shorter par 5's allow for some good scoring chances for the mid handicap. Take a few minutes before the round to roll some putts, bent grass greens have lots of features but nothing crazy. They roll really good and if you are not careful putts will get away from you and 3 putts will add up. Wind which can be an issue and make things cold really wasnt here with pines providing some protection. Would def play again. February 22, 2013
with so many other nice course around the vegas area.im not sure why anyone would play this one. we were very dissapointed with this course.we played many other courses in the vegas area and found this one to be rather boring and very short. it is quite a tight course but if you are a single figure handicap then you will be hitting driver and chipping a sand wedge most of the day.theres just no way you can justify paying $99 for here when you could get on a much nicer course like spanish trails or tuscany for $70. the condition of the course is great.no complaints there. just too short.comparing this to pinehurst is quite frankly a insult to the former. Short hitter friendly Not extremely long, but challenging. Staff super, excellent facilities. January 31, 2013
Great Location. Pristine Condition. High Recommended! I played Desert Pines as part of a 3-day golf package offered by Walters Golf. Desert Pines was a true delight that required very crafty iron play and I absolutely loved it. The greens rolled true and had great undulation! It was a fantastic golf experience that definitely stood out - much different than the target golf you'll experience elsewhere in Las Vegas. What's great about this course is their practice facility! I wound up delaying my start time because of it and staying after my round to get in addition practice - simply awesome. And the staff ... 5-star service all the way. They truly make you feel special, sort of like a local country club feel. January 30, 2013
Favorite course is Las Vegas!!!! I play Desert Pines at least twice a month but have never written a review for this golf course till now. I've played nearly 85% of the golf courses in Las Vegas and Desert Pines, for the price(resident rate) is by far the hidden jewel of the desert!! The course is always well maintained, the greens have always offered a great putting surface, the staff is wonderful and there for your every need!! The driving range, even though its mats only, is covered with air conditioning and misters for the hot summer times, automatic ball dispenser with adjustable tees and if you get an "orange" ball, you get a free round of golf. The course is pretty straight forward, challenging enough for advance players hitting from the back tee's but is a great, fun course for the novice to intermediate player. Bunker play is challenging but their sand is very well maintained, no rocks, not hard packed at all and easy to pitch out of. Because of the great rates and course conditions, it can at times be a little bit busy but the pace of play seems to move along nicely. I always seem to shoot my best scores at this course!! great staff Course is in good shape, players need to repair ball divots, greens are really smooth December 26, 2012
Shot makers course Course was in good shape, greens were fast and we played in under 4 hours. Fairways can be narrow at times but played with my 80 yr old father and the course was even playable for him. Golfnow special was for $81 which is a great value for a Walters Golf Course. November 28, 2012
This course is beautiful and challenging Love this course well maintained. This course is pretty challenging the fairways are super narrow, if your off with your drives good luck November 23, 2012
Great value I was very happy with the condition of the course and the cost to play. The staff was terrific and extremely friendly! Played on Thanksgiving day and finished in under 3 hours. Going back to play again today. November 23, 2012
The staff was outstanding The course was in very good shape and was what I would call a typical "resort" course. Not hard, but very aesthetic. November 22, 2012
Fairways are nice. liked the layout with the water in areas Everything was great except the greens. they were chewed up by someone dragging their feet creating long ridges of spike marks, looks like very few fix their ball marks. Also someone had was spitting sunflower seeds on the green, Not very smooth putting. course could us a marshal to be watching for these kind of things. November 2, 2012
Excellent Course - Great Experience Desert Pines is a treat to play. Always in beautiful condition, challenging but very playable. October 31, 2012
overpriced greens were terribly slow and chewed up.played it for 1/2 price(99.00)would not pay 40.00 to play it again September 23, 2012
