Angel Park Golf Club - Mountain Course 3.6 5 45 45
Ho Hum On my trip to Vegas I managed to get few hours to play this course in the morning. The staff was friendly - both for checking in and for the rental clubs. The course itself was well maintained. The fairways and greens were in good condition. The course is not super challenging , and that's the way I prefer it - most players shoot around 90 anyways. My complaint is that it felt soulless. There was no hole that blew me away - either by its design , or views etc. Its a good place to play - but look elsewhere for memorable round of golf. March 29, 2013
A great well manicured and challenging course From a women's perspective, this course is challenging. I lost five balls, but I have lot of fun playing by myself. The course is beautiful, greens are difficult, but looking at the mountains and the clean sky it is so rewarding! i would love to play it again with the special price from Golfnow.com March 28, 2013
Good course but not great condition Good course layout with a nice variety holes, greens were better and faster than they looked, fairways were not in great shape but not terrible. March 27, 2013
Possibly seasonal? But I've only played it twice. I played this course twice now. The first time in the warmer months and the course was beautiful. My friend and I boasted about it and couldn't wait to play it again, however when I played during the off season I was a bit disappointed. I understand saving water, seeding and preparing for spring etc., so it's to be expected to some extent, but overly dry conditions are more what I found. Still my partners and I would have enjoyed the course far greater if the greens alone would have had a bit of watered grass on them. The fairways in this condition are bearable, but the greens were some of the most aggravating I've ever played. Aside from being far too fast and impossible to read they were so dry and hard that I recall we watched in amazement while a ball rolled entirely off the green after just missing a short put on no more than average slope! I'm hoping we were just unlucky and caught the course at its worst possible time, that happens. I would hate to feel it necessary to choose Angel Park as a seasonal course. The staff is absolutely awesome! Very friendly and yes it matters. I'm not a complainer, just giving honest feedback because you asked. If I were boss for a day I would simply have at least one restroom per 9 hole course! The course doesn't need to be littered with them but I'm afraid I can't get behind the concept of having "no" restrooms on the course. I don't know anyone who enjoys their game when they need to relieve themselves. I can't help but wonder who feels it's important enough to hydrate that a refreshment cart is readily available but if you need to "go", too bad! That's a lack of concern for the customer while continuing to sell product. Folks don't get to choose when the need arises and if I'm the boss, that's the first and possibly the only change I make at Angel Park. March 3, 2013
Angel Park Mountain Word on the street is that Angel Park is hit or miss and I agree. I found the staff friendly and helpful (when you could find them). The course is fun to play but the conditions are far from pristine. Greens are fast and difficult; some lacked grass almost entirely but they ran true. The clubhouse is impressive but I'd rather they spend the money on the course. If you are paying more than half-price, you paid too much. February 21, 2013
Great public course Not pristine, but a good layout and excellent deal for the price. February 21, 2013
Great Value on Golfnow! This was the second time at Angel Park and we are impressed. Staff is friendly and helpful, ranges balls included in fee, nice driving range, good golf carts, and the course is excellent. Some sand, some water, some desert, great fairways and tricky but fair well groomed greens! Now get this, the Golfnow price was 1/2 of what we would have paid just walking in - because we called to check! March 30, 2013
In the off-season for the course. Greens were very fast, but overall condition was about 3-3.5 on a scale of 1-5. Great layout, played many times and worthy of your next round February 7, 2013
Enjoyed the Mountain Course of Angel Park A beautiful course with great views of the surrounding desert mountains set next to the Suncoast Casino. Course was in good condition for January. Like most courses the fairways are a little too close together but maybe I just need to hit my drive straighter. February 3, 2013
Awesome golf!! Great course - loved the contrast of the lush fairways and sandy/rocky dessert, especially with the mountains in the background. If you can't take the heat, re-think playing here. There is no shade. March 18, 2013
good value for $ course ok for a muni-like experience no ranger to keep slower groups moving - but for $45 in the Las Vegas area - not much more expected a few bare spots in every fairway. greens were good enough, though they varied in speed January 29, 2013
Horrible Greens This is the worst golf course I have ever played on. The greens were like concrete and the tee boxes were even harder. You needed to drill hole for your tee, No Joke! January 22, 2013
Typical public course, not bad but not great. Too many beginner players, caused very slow round. Had to quite on after 16 holes. i think there are better choices in the area, especially if you are coming from out of town. The day we played weather was perfect for the time of year, but a cold spell had come through earlier in the week. Greens were not good. January 20, 2013
Average course with average cost = average play. This was the first of three course we played during our stay. It set the bar kind of low for the others. While the staff was very nice and the cost was low, I was expecting more of the condtions. I know that courses like to keep the fairways trimmed, this course had them cut to the bone. The greens didn't like to hold many shots, but the ground was very firm this day. We enjoyed the round and I'm not really complaining. I will say, keep your food hidden, the "locals" like to jump in your carts and help themselves to your food. January 19, 2013
Fast greens Mountain course greens are super fast, downhill real tough. March 1, 2013
Vegas Golf Trip Good course, nice fairways and good value for the money! we booked on golfnow for 59 a player with cart. played the palm course which wasnt very long but had some challenge to it with the greens. February 7, 2013
Outstanding value. Excellent greens, very playable. This is a great course. Challenging layout, very playable. A couple of forced carrys that made it a little tough on my wife, but that's golf. The greens were in great shape - particularly for a winter round. I'll play it again. It was a great value, two rounds for under $100 in Vegas is awesome! Staff was very friendly. I've played virtually every course in Vegas (with the exception of those wanting Pebble Beach rates) and this one is in the top 20%. December 24, 2012
Goat Track or Busy Saturday... First of all no one was at the bag drop but that's fine it was busy. We had a 12:38 teetime and made are way to the driving range about noon. I have been to some course that needed to hit off mats but your mats are completely worn out and there were little kids running all over the place, fine you are family friendly, the range was a waste of time. I asked the course employee filling up the balls at the range where the first teebox was at for the Palm Course in which he pointed west and said over there, not follow the cart path pass the putting green and in front of the clubshouse, just over there. We make it to the starters which told us to go to the first tee and go when the group ahead of us is clear. We wait for about five minutes for them to clear and then teeoff. As we get to our balls we notice the second teebox has three groups waiting plus the group on the first green. We finish the first hole where we then become the fourth group waiting to teeoff on the second hole, a thirty plus minutes wait. By the time we made it to the seventh hole we knew we were going to quit after nine. I did notice a course employee standing with a clip board on eight and asked him the fastest way to the clubhouse after nine, he asked if we were not have fun on the course and I said no, it's horrible to wait this long between shots. He said it was busy, I said we teeoffed at 12:38 his reply was, "oh wow," of course we were on our way to three hours on the front nine, He said we should have booked an earlier teetime if we wanted to finish 18... You should hire a marshal and if he is your marshal I would replace him. We make it back to the clubhouse and cart return where none of the employees even acknowledged we were there, we took our clubs and left... No need to mention anything to the prostaff because we figured they would have the same lackadaisical attitude the rest of the course employees had... I was embarrassed to have recommend the course to my friends. Will not return and never recommend it or any OB Sports courses. I have played almost every course in the Las Vegas area and this course ranks very low. I like the experience I had at The Legacy, Painted Desert and Stallion Mountain but will never play them again. I would not recommend it to people I didn't like. February 6, 2013
Great features The course requires target accuracy with a lot of finess. February 1, 2013
Rude staff, no respect for beginners Throughout our round we had an Asian marshall follow us around the entire back nine telling us to play faster. We informed him we had two beginners in our group and also acknowledged to him that we knew we were playing slow and tried our very best to stop and let people by. Golf is a gentlemens game and there was zero example of that by both staff and other players. Our entire round felt rushed and took away from the enjoyment of the game. Very disappointed for a highly reviewed course. I will never be playing here again due to never experiencing such rude and condescending employees. December 17, 2012
Slow play Pricy for what the course offers, rental clubs where so so January 28, 2013
well maintained the staff was great went out of there way to help us also got us out early. the course was in good shape great greens the only down side was it was next to a lot of busy roads January 27, 2013
Had a great time here. This was the first of four straight days of playing and Angel Park was a perfect start. January 11, 2013
this course has fast green and up and down day I play , wind was up to 30 mile in hour. .. I hope this was not everyday condition.. December 25, 2012
Good experience. Counter guys were friendly.Course in good condition. As a single they got me out 30 minutes early with a good group of guys. Will most likely play here next time I visit Las Vegas. December 5, 2012
Great course design in a beautiful setting My friends (3) and I had one of the best outings of our lives. The course staff were very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The restaurant food was great and reasonably priced, and the service was unsurpassed. Will return to play either the Mountain or Palms the next time I am in Vegas. November 27, 2012
Weather Course condition was nice and you couldn't beat the Weather that day! November 24, 2012
Friendliest staff I have ever encountered. From the moment we walked into the pro shop we were greeted and made to feel welcome. Awesome people. Very nice course for all levels. Great shape. Pace of play was terrific. November 19, 2012
Course has great challenges. The course was in great shape. The views from the course was excellent. Greens are tough to putt unless you know a few tricks. Luckily I played with someone who knew the tricks to play the course. Even knowing the info, the course was still very challenging but very enjoyable. November 15, 2012
Very poor course, very slow and dismissive staff Very poor course would not play again, only played 15 holes as waited on every shot from the off, staff had apparently overbooked, staff did not care about issues. Would NOT play again and would NOT recommend November 7, 2012
