Wildhorse Golf Club
From Bad to Worse
This used to be my home course, but after playing here twice in 2 weeks, I remember why it has been 3 plus years since playing here. They can seemingly grow everything here well except for grass! Granted, they were preparing for overseed when I played Sunday, but still, the tee boxes are in the worst shape I have ever seen. And none are level anymore. They weren't the most level anytime in the past, but they are horrific now. And as usual fro Wildhorse, the fairways and greens have huge areas of dirt where grass won't grow. Oh yeah, I also purchased a HOT Deal where I was supposed to get a free lunch and beverage with my round - wasn't even offered by the course when I payed for my time. It will definitely be a few more years before I play here again.

love the layout
really it needs just a little TLC great layout many risk V.S reward on the dog legs. greens were just seeded a week ago I guess but putted true and good speed. I was paired with a few locals and the company was great and had a good time.
What more can I say the staff was very friendly and helpful too.
did I say the beer was priced right too not a rip off like many of the other courses

Course was not in good condition but it was a great last minute deal. I would play again, but I would not pay full price.

Greens are horrible
It seemed like they backed a dump truck up to each green and dumped sand on all of them. They were bumpy and slow. Extremely hard to read. Cart had virtually no brakes and literally did not stop until the lock pedal was engaged. Bought a breakfast burrito at 5:45 AM and you would think it would be at least warm if not hot. Burrito's should be served warm. Met some very nice folks we got paired up with to make a foursome and the weather was great other than that this club seems to be over rated for the money they charge.

Course under new management and making positive changes.
I got paired with a couple of local ladies who were pretty good golfers. They were very helpful in pointing out needed to know things about each hole. They play this course weekly and stated that new management has done a good job improving the course in the past 2 months. Worth playing for the money.

Great course and friendly staff!
I was looking for a low-cost golf option for my 13 year-old son and me during my visit to Vegas and came across Wildhorse. I was able to book a tee time for Monday, August 4th for $15pp (great deal). I found mixed reviews here and on TripAdvisor, but figured for the price, I couldn't go wrong.
We arrived at the course about an hour early as we needed to sort out rental clubs (I didn't bother carrying mine with me on the trip). The Pro shop quickly sorted us with two sets for a whopping total of $45. So at this stage, I'm only out $75 for two players with cart and rental clubs. They also noted that it was the slow season, so we could head straight out when we were ready.
We made a quick stop at the snack bar to grab some drinks and were away. The course was well maintained with nice fairways and greens. There were manicured flower / plant beds along the fairways with a gravel / sand base. The greens played a little slow, but I am used to this from playing in Texas through the summer.
With no one on the course in front of us, my son and I managed to play 18 holes in about 3.25 hours. This worked to our advantage as a storm was approaching that afternoon.
Overall, I was very pleased with the course and would definitely play it again (even without the golfnow discount).

OK for money
Got a really good rate, which is good because if I paid more I would be upset. Greens in really good shape, but slow. Fariways in very rough condition. Moved quickly, played in 2.5 hours, played through one group.

We hit a pretty uncomfortable weather day, but enjoyed it nonetheless.... We play here as often as we come to Las Vegas - every few months. :)
