Built in 1901, historic Normandie Golf Course is the oldest Public golf course still in operation in it's original location, West of the Mississippi River. Designed in St. Louis by Robert Foulis, a disciple of Old Tom Morris of St. Andrews, Scotland fame, the course is a true delight to play. With its unique routing and throwback style, Normandie is a true golfing gem and a delight to behold. The Bermuda fairways and undulating greens are always in top condition and ready for play.

Playing just over 6,500 yards from the back tees and to a par of 71, Normandie is as much a challenge today as it was on the day it opened. The Bermuda fairways are always in top condition, and the greens are well manicured. Designed well before the advent of power carts, the layout is a walker's breeze, as tees are located conveniently adjacent to the preceding green.

This facility is managed by Walters Golf Management.

Cheap golf in a good location Golfnow runs great deals on this golf course for around $20 and I wouldn't pay anymore for it. It's in a great central location in St. Louis that's convenient for everyone to meet at. However, the surrounding neighborhood has deteriorated over the years. The golf course is challenging with multiple blind shots and hills in the fairway. None of the bunkers were playable on the day that I was there. The fairways weren't in very good shape either. The greens were in good shape and challenging. It's very clear that the owners of this course are trying to get by on the bare minimum maintenance. They only had one employee in working the entire clubhouse including taking tee times and serving drinks. There wasn't any marshals on the course to speed up play. Overall, it's a cheap round of golf that provides a bit of challenge. If you can accept the fact that it isn't in "great" shape, it will be an enjoyable experience. October 31, 2012
Good Play, Good Location I can't wait for the weather to improve because I know that I will always be able to get a good round in at a good course at Normandie. Especially early in the season when this course is in really good shape, it is one of the best kept secrets in St. Louis. I really like this course and hope that it continues to improve. Even nice in the off season. April 6, 2013
This course is an iconic trac. Keep that in mind. Always a challenge--long par 4's, small and difficult greens, and many tree lined fairways. It is old and needs a huge influx of $$ to restore it's original grandeur, but that is not likely. Play it now and imagine how it must have played with wooden shaft clubs and the like. 4/5/2013 greens are in good shape, fairways are still brown, rough is spotty, green fees were approximately $21.00 for seniors, tees are sparse, and par 3 #18 plays 285 yards. A great way to spend a spring afternoon. April 6, 2013
early spring .....faiway grass has not come in yet....greens very good fast and difficult built in 1901....small greens...narrow fairways....doglegs....lots of hills and slopes..undulated greens....1 par 3 at 235 yards up hill..this course is target golf...you will use every club in your bag..i played for first time in march and fairways still had not turned green....but i could tell when they do come in they will be perfect...i'm going to play this course quite often....if you haven't played this course you need to try.... April 3, 2013
Not bad for March It's hard to say how nice the course will be, but in march the greens were in excellent shape (and fast). Interesting layout but very fun to play. March 25, 2013
Interesting and challenging. The course will require some maintenance before spring golf season. Tee boxes need much work and seemed like we were teeing off on the fairway for a couple holes. Otherwise, the course was challenging but interesting. I can't wiat to see what the Walters group will do to make it more enjoyable. March 24, 2013
This is a challenging course We plaued on Feb. 13 and the fairways were in very good shape, the first rough was trimmed and the greens were forst quality for May. It doesn't matter what your hadicap is add 8 for this course. February 14, 2013
Great Nostalgia But..... This course is the oldest golf course still at their original address west of the Mississippi. Like many older courses there are plenty of blind shots and quirky holes. Eighteen is a 240 yard par 3 but it is fun to play. I got out on an unusually balmy January Monday. Everyone else had the same idea! As a result the pace was horribly slow. Walkers are allowed as well as foursomes back to back. As a result it was difficult to get into any rhythm or flow. The course was still in good shape with plenty of challenging holes. Greens were fun to play. GolfNow of 12.00 with a cart is hard to pass up. I am a big fan of the Walters Golf Courses but this one is at the low end. January 30, 2013
This course is a great value for the money This was a great round of golf on the spur of the moment for my wife and myself. The staff was great, and the course was in about as good of shape as could be expected for a Thanksgiving day. November 23, 2012
if you can play well here you can play anywhere played from back tee's this course presents all kinds of problems, 180 to 200 yd. approach shots are common to very small greens. high handicap players should seriously consider playing middle tee's November 21, 2012
Greens in excellent condition. Very fast. Plays long from the blue tees, greens in excellent condition, very fast. Good value, fast paced play. November 18, 2012
I would recommend this course to anyone looking for a challenging round. I have played this course maybe five or six times over the last four years and was in the best shape I had ever seen. The last few years they had lost several greens, but they have all come back. The fairways are short and roll forever this time of year. The greens were fast. November 10, 2012
Staff is unkind fairway conditions are not good. Bunker is really bad. October 31, 2012
Great course especially considering the reasonable pricing. Great value. Played a twosome in 2 hours 50 minutes. They squeezed us in before a shotgun start and it worked out great. Normandie has always been a great spot and it was better than ever this time! October 4, 2012
Needs work.. For the price 30$. I felt like I was robbed. Course was almost unplayable. Not to mention the 2 groups of five drunk hackers in front of our group. Don't play if you want to waste your money. September 21, 2012
