great potential Course is in a very nice setting. It could be a great course just needs some improvements to Cart path and some.tee box areas. But it has a good value and some nice greens. Will be one of my regular courses. August 9, 2014
What a view! This course offers beautiful panoramic views of the Central Valley from a number of tee boxes. The environment is serene and quiet. Lots of good opportunities for long straight drives. A couple 500+ yard holes give more than enough opportunity to get out there and really go for the gusto. However, a drive that doesn't run reasonably straight is punished rather harshly as the wooded areas, and tall grass are very dense. The course provides a good deal of challenge for experienced golfers, and is still easy enough for a novice to go out and sharpen their skill set. Pace is good and most of the patrons are pretty laid back. We didn't encounter anyone that was unwilling to let a faster group play through. The course staff is very friendly, and the carts are late model so there is no issue with mechanical failure. The bathrooms in the clubhouse leave something to be desired, but we'll give them a little slack. Given their location its very likely that their are on well water and septic tanks. The cart paths could use some attention, and the maybe the bushes trimmed a bit along the path in some spots. Overall we had a great experience here. And will definitely be returning again. Course is looking really good I have played Sun Valley quite a view times in the past, but this was my first round this year. Really impressed on how they have been managing the course and they are keeping it a challenge without it looking like a "cow pasture". That is what everyone used to call it. Greens were awesome and the speed was really good. The Staff as always were friendly and very helpful. I always like to play here and will definetly return. July 14, 2014
Nice views Course has some nice views could use a few more water stations. July 13, 2014
great place to play Fun for all levels of play.great price for course and wonderful scenery July 13, 2014
Sun Valley, Elsberry MO Good for the money, worth the drive. Fast greens, very tough rough. Great fairways with lots of roll. July 5, 2014
When $13 isn't a bargain Average greens were best part of course and the back 9 layout could be great but it is in the worst shape of any course I played in the past several years. Rough was simply clover and too much time needed to locate balls especially since was cart path only. Some greens are already turning brown in spots as well. Offered a rain check for back 9 due to lightning in the area and declined. I used to play this course a lot but will not return under current ownership. May 31, 2014
Fast round, greens in great shape My wife and I played at 1030 am. Played in less than 3.5 hrs. Course is very green and in decent shape. Greens are in very good shape. Only downfalls are rough was ridiculous and with clover often lost balls just in the rough because it was so thick. Definitely needs to be cut better. After 4 years away, there are still several cart paths not paved which is just cheesy. I like the layout and the views and elevation changes are beautiful and challenging. Overall well worth the drive and the cost. May 27, 2014
