When you're in Midland, you're in oil country. After a round of golf, take a trip through 500 million years of history at the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum just off I-20. Not your thing? Well, you don't have to be inside. At an altitude of 2,800 feet, Midland has a great climate for catching a Rock Hounds minor league baseball game. And if we were there in June, we would have to go to the "Mex-Tex Menudo, Chili, and Fajita Cook-Off." Few things are more competitive than a West Texas cook-off—except for a heated skins game, of course.
