Take a break from salmon fishing and check out the three golf courses Fairbanks has to offer, such as the 9-hole Fairbanks Golf & Country Club which is open 24 hours a day from June 1 to July 20.

Fairbanks may also be one of the best spots on earth to see the great Northern Lights, and may have the only golf course that has an animal checklist on its scorecard; as the North State Golf Course’s open grassy meadows have been known to attract the attention of a variety of native Alaskan species. Don’t worry; however, the local rule states that whenever a raven or fox steals your golf ball, a replacement may be dropped at the scene of the crime without penalty.
