The courses were in good shape but brown due to no rain and season (fall) which made the rough of no consequence.
The greens were not as fast as I have been used to here. Greens on the Meadows had been punched so they were pretty bumpy but the roll was mostly true. Would like more yardages indicated on sprinkler heads. I always enjoy playing this course no matter the time of year.

I had played Potomac Ridge a few times almost a decade ago, but hadn't been back for years.
The years in between haven't been good to the course. What once had aspirations to be a "country club for a day" venue is now a scruffy, beat up place. No food to speak of, and the pro-shop is very quiet and nearly empty.
However! That means you can play an interesting course for a good price. Ironically, the apparent lack of watering of the fairways means that the course plays firm and fast, while the greens are still receptive. And, as few people are on the course, the only thing limiting your speed is how fast you want to play. Bottom line - you can have fun, but don't expect much.
You can score. Have fun, but

Course is in good condition, pace of play during the day is very good as not many golfers out. Staff is ok but not very friendly.

I have played here once before and did not have high expectations but it was a good deal on Golfnow for about $20 and close to work. The pro seemed genuinely annoyed I had used Golfnow and said it was a "trade" time and he got no $ for it. He literally watched his watch to make sure I teed off exactly at my tee time even though there was 6 cars in the lot and nobody on the first couple of holes. I was pleasantly surprised with the greens on the front but they absolutely soaked the greens on the back to the point that there was basically casual water on the greens.

Potomac Ridge is a very nice golf course to play. It clean, quite, and scenic with rolling hills, water , tons of tall trees and high grass to stay clear of. I lost a few balls that landed in the middle of the fairway, but disappeared magically. The price of play is a little higher than most courses in the area, but there is really nothing to complain about. If you can find a discount app this quickly becomes one of the best values in Maryland

The first time that I can remember playing anywhere where there was virtually no drinking water on the course. It was so bad that my playing partner called the clubhouse to ask where the water was. The response was indifferent. We finally found water on the 13th or 14th hole. Was not happy about that.

Rated 2 out of 5 by brooksgolf1 Potomac Ridge not what it use to be
Have played Potomac Ridge for years course has definitely gone down. With the prices the course charges it was a major disappointment. There had been rain in the area but the bunkers were terrible, not raked basically all rocks no sand glad I only found 1 in my round. No matter what you pay you should be able to hit practice balls for free and not $25 dollars. Greens were just OK in rough shape, there are courses around that are cheaper and in much better shape.

The course layout is fair and the conditions were below average with un mowed fairways, crabgrass rough, and greens that were not smooth. What was curious was the way the gentleman in the golf shop treated us knowing that we made our tee time on GOLF NOW. He specifically told us that we because we booked on GOLF NOW for a discounted rate, we had to carry our bags up the hill to the driving range and then come back to pro shop in 10 minutes. There were 15 carts waiting to be used and were being used by the other customers who had walked up. In the 500 golf courses I have played in my life, I have never been treated worse. If you don't mind being openly treated like a second class citizen to play a pretty average course, this is the place to go.
