Ironhorse Golf Club
With its opening in 1995, IRONHORSE Golf Club has quickly become the topic of con- versation among golfers throughout the Kansas City Area. Located at 154th and Mission Road in Leawood, this par 72, championship, 18-hole layout was designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan of Columbus, Ohio. Every effort was made during construction to maintain the natural aspect of the land.
The achievements over the past many years demonstrate the great potential of IRONHORSE Golf Club. From its beginning in 1995, Golf Digest Magazine ranked IRONHORSE the #1 Public Golf Course in the State of Kansas. After the 1996 season Golf Digest Magazine once again honored IRONHORSE in their Best New Courses section as #3 in the category of “Best New Affordable Golf Course in the United States.” As the course matured, it has continued to rack up honors from local and national publications, and become a favorite among golfers.
