View Tee Times

With breathtaking panoramic views of the Kona coastline, the Mountain Course has its way of attracting beginners and advanced golfers alike. It features a cool mountain setting, manicured Bermuda greens, elevated tees, numerous bunkers and three lakes. Challenge yourself on the front nine as you experience elevation changes. After reaching the crescendo, all you see is a clear blue ocean, swaying palm trees and a panoramic view from Keauhou to Kona. Take a moment on our par 3, hole #5 and #14. Both holes feature exotic drops from tee to green. Hole 14 is the highest point of the course and is the most picturesque hole. There is a waterfall surrounded by red bougainvillea and black lava rock, scenic lake and miles of ocean as far as the eye can see. The Mountain Course is enriched in Hawaiian culture. This area was a favorite playground for Hawaiian royalties known as Alii. You’ll see Hawaiian wild goats moving throughout the back nine. Golf Digest Magazine rated the Mountain Course as 4 stars and ESPN, Zagat Guide recognized it as one of the top facilities in the nation. The front nine was designed by William Bell in 1985. The back nine was completed in 1991, designed by Rodney and Nelson Wright. Surrounded by this enchanting setting, your experience on the Mountain Course will linger in your memories.

Terrible service This course is very tight and if you don't hit the fairway your ball is lost in the volcanic rock. The service was non-existent. i would not recommend this course. June 15, 2013
Where is the staff???? Though this was a nice course, the staff was nowhere to be found. I had to get my own cart, put my cart away, etc. I never saw a staff person other than the guy at the counter who took my money. June 15, 2013
Great course though closing 6/7/13 until further notice. Course closing 6/7/2013 until further notice. Employees didn't know future of jobs or course. Might have new owners. June 7, 2013
Course is a Dog. Absolute terrible place to play. Fairways were terrible, greens were worse, bunkers were washed out and had lava rock in them. This course wouldn't be a good value at $15 let alone the $50 we paid. Do not waste your time. June 5, 2013
Beauty in decline Beautiful layout, breathtaking scenery and a real challenge. That sums up Kona Country Clubs mountain course. But sadly the whole thing breathes the atmosphere of neglect. The cart we drove, would have made a fitting prop in The Flintstones: you could see right through the bottom and breaks were nonexistent. The bar was closed, the bunkers contained hardly any sand, a pond was dry, the on course lavatories were filthy and I could go on complaining. I won't. We had a fine round for $55 through a GolfNow deal. But I noticed that the standard greenfee is $150. No way! June 4, 2013
Nice course, but closing in a week Arrived to learn course is closing in a week, so driving range and restaurant were closed. Golf Now should have noted this issue. No warm up and no food. The course was maintained fairly well considering their pending closing date; however, ladie's restroom was scary, some of the greens needed attention and the cart path was washed out in several spots. Looks like they are going to re open as there was a lot of noisy maintenance going on while we played. June 3, 2013
Awesome views Every hole was a Kodak moment, highly recommended. May 27, 2013
Good vacation courses Fun course to play on vacation... The range was closed but other then that it was a lot of fun! May 22, 2013
