Most will really enjoy this course
A mid length course with fast and manageable greens. Some what a target type course. All in all a very enjoyable day of golf.
Carts are gas and well maintained. Staff very friendly.

Good Course For The Money
Love this course. Greens were in great shape, fairways and tee boxes as well. I played alone and they got me out ahead of my tee time with a threesome, which is awesome. Pace of play for a Saturday was great too. Would definitely recommend this course.

Fun course for Newbies
Very nice course for a 2 year player like myself. Waiting was a little long, long backup at first tee box. I will play this course again.

A beautiful golf course for an affordable price.
This is a beautiful golf course with some challenging holes. There are a lot of rocks and a couple of holes with old chimney, thus the name of the course. The greens need a little work, but overall a very nice course.

Great Course for Us Amatuers
For me, one of my favorites. It has challenging holes but a series of short par 4s can get your game back on track. Forgiving fairways help off the tee, but you still have to think your shots. Par 3s are short enough to be fun. Greens are always in great shape and the fairways are kept good even in winter. A real good golfer would say this course is too easy, but for wanna be golfers like me, I really like it.

Good course
I really enjoyed playing there. Have played in a couple of tournaments there and played with others at different times. Would go back in a heart beat.

If you live in barrow county or close, chimneys is one of the finer courses around to play for the price. The elevation changes and creeks running through the course make for a very interested and fun round of golf. And don't forget the awesome brats and burgers at the clubhouse. Very yummy

Golf in the country...... cut through the woods..no homes..Great!
Fun track that provides a number of opportunities to "go low" as well as a few that will challenge you if you play the "tips". Bent grass greens were in good condition for this time of year (December). A "no frills" pro shop / snack bar completes the package

Fun to play
The Chimneys course is comparatively short but very fun to play. All the holes are different and the course was built using the native boulders and rocks to add definition and character to the green and fairway borders. An added element of fun is that a fairly long hitter can drive 4-5 of the par fours - especially from the white or Senior tees. Another brilliant feature of the course is that many of the densely wooded areas are marked as lateral hazards meaning you can just drop with a one stroke penalty instead of having to declare a lost ball and going back to the tee. All public courses should adopt this practice to speed up play and increase enjoyment.

Greens were in great shape and rolling nicely. Bermuda is dormant.
The course was in great shape for this time of year. The greens were in good shape, rolling nicely, and pin location was challenging with putts rolling out 5-6 feet past the hole due to the quickness of the greens.
The bermuda is going dormant which made for tough chipping around the green. The fairways were a little dry with minimal grass.
Some of the waste areas have been cut down, which I feel is an improvement over times when they are overgrown.
Overall, had a very good time....and the hot dogs were delicious.

Winter time golf here is great
The course is in fantastic shape considering the time of year. I noticed workers out on the course cleaning up some over grown growth which will make playing some holes easier. All in all, a very good value for your dollar.

Chimney's review
I have played Chimney's a number of times and always enjoy myself. I love the course layout...the front is challenging with holes #5 and #9 being the toughest. Both involve Marburg creek. The back nine is easier, but #16 will give you a challenge.The greens are pristine and the fairways are great. They have a small cafe where they serve homemade food! I had a meatloaf sandwich and chilli that were awesome! Best golf course food I've ever had! Price was right...highly recommend.

Super fun golf course - a joy to play
I have played here twice. For me, it's a 70 mile round trip, so going back kind of says it all - if you're willing to travel over an hour to play golf, it's got to be worth it.
The course itself from the gold tees measures around 6,500yds - very short. There are several par 4s that are easily driveable, so you can score low in comparison to most courses you play.
Overall, the greens are good and moderately fast. The turf on the greens is in good shape and you don't see a lot of careless maintenance (like unfixed ball marks), so you know people that play here are "cleaning up after themselves" which makes a golf experience most enjoyable.
I will definitely come back.

Nice course, easy access, good value, not rushed...
I found the layout at The Chimneys to be practice-friendly--you can hit an errant shot and still have a good chance of finding your ball. The fairways were in above-average condition, and the greens were awesome. Nice surroundings, and I was in-and -out of the pro shop in no time. They won't be hosting a major here, but you'll have a good time playing a fairly challenging course with friends for a nice price!

Fun course to play
Greens are in great shape. For the long ball hitter there are a couple of fun drivable par 4s. And some of the best side dishes for your hot dog or burgers.

One of my favorite courses.
The course is challenging without being terribly penal for errant shots. Some par fours are drivable. Great for the ego. The front nine crosses a creek several times and can become a hazard to avoid. My favorite hole is the 18th. You must be in the fairway to have a chance at par on this hole.
Overall a great value for the frugal golfer.

Good course at a good value.
My only complaint was that the play was slow. Afternoon the marshals were not there and a group of six was on the course in front of us slowing play.

Love this course great places to play
My pals and i love this course it is the best in winder by far and it is always in great shape and is worth the asking price. just in this year alone i have played it maybe five times and would love to play it five more before the end of the season...just a great course to play!!

A tale of two nines.
Front nine requires much more accuracy off the tee and is much more challenging. Back nine has three drivable or almost drivable par fours (10, 11, 13 and 18). Fairways and greens were in great shape. Moderately challenging front nine and easy back nine. Fun course to play for my wife and I.
