Course was in bad shape. No grass on some tees, alot of bad greens. The starter and clubhouse personnel were very nice. The course was extremely slow. Some tees did not even have grass on tee box. Fairways were brown, but it was still winter. Greens were way to fast for a public course, and several had pieces of grass gone. Would not play again. April 3, 2013
Cheap! You will get what you pay for at this course. Cheap rates & poor conditions. The staff (manager/owner) was rather rude and complaining that i made my tee time online with golfnow.com. He didn’t honor our tee time or want to accept that I paid in full online even though i had printed & brought my receipt with me. We ended up waiting over an hour to tee off because we were "bumped" to the end and had to wait for a cart. They simply don’t have enough carts to accommodate a Sunday crowd and he used our booking method as an excuse. If i hadnt already prepaid for the round then we would have left for sure February 26, 2013
Average Muni Course does have 27 holes which speeds play. Greens and fairways need some TLC! For the money, it is ok. October 24, 2012
Poorly maintained municipal course. I played the course 10 years ago and found it had deteriorated significantly. Greens were in bad shape and fairways in worse. Tee boxes? October 11, 2012
Give Back to Animals The lack of upkeep on this course is horrible - especially when compared to other courses in the area! Instead of paying to play this course, the city should pay you to play. October 8, 2012
Should be ashamed to charge for a course in that shape! Was visiting on vacation and booked online because the course was close and inexpensive. Should have looked further. The people working at the course should have gotten up on the other side of the bed. Very rude people!! October 4, 2012
There are other courses that are better in the area; greens need work This course was ok. It's not the most challenging course, but it is still no pushover. My biggest complaint is the condition of the greens. Some of the greens were missing patches of grass which made putting harder because you had no idea how the ball would react. What would normally be a good putt could end up way off because of the inconsistent greens. Not my favorite course. There are many other courses in the Savannah area I choose ahead of this one. 27 holes to play Bacon Park offers three different 9-hole choices to play your round of 18. The course has a descent range of challenges without making any hole too difficult. There are plenty of turns and a few hazards to keep you thinking, and a few wide open areas to help rescue that un-planned fade, hook or slice. The clubhouse offers a nice little vaiety of food, snacks and beverages with lots of room to take a break at the turn, or hang out and tell tall tales after your round. September 26, 2012
