Great Value for the Money
Excellent Course. Can be slow if you play on the weekend mornings as this course gets a lot of play. All in all, excellent course for the money and is always well maintained.

Great course, well maintained.
This is just a really fun course to play, great track, friendly layout for those of us that like to spray the ball. They've got 5 tee boxes to choose from I think, so those of you who need a challenge can take it to the tips. Can get pretty crowded making for a slow round.

A cold but good day - great course
I play very poorly today, but that was not the fault of the course.
I enjoyed the day, but played poorer than normal - still a good day out on the course!

Great quality, low price
I enjoy playing this course. Recently aerated the greens so they're not their usual fast paced self. But, once it recovers it'll be back to normal. Price is right and the course condition is good.

Cart Restrictions
Golf carts were in pretty bad shape and restricted to cart path only

Great place to play!
This course was in good shape i found it to be setup well for long hitters and shorter hitters. The fairways were nice for this time of year the greens were also well maintained. I will def. be back to play!

I have played this couse many times over the years and it always been in good shape and the greens are fast and true.

A good mix of challenge and scoring
The course was cart path only the day I played, but the course was in good shape for this time of year and the wet weather we just recently experienced. Greens were running good but not easy to read and they play pretty fast. As public courses go, this is as good as it gets!

One of Atlanta's best courses ( Go Play )
I have played Mystey Valley for along time through the years dating back as far as 1980's and one of the best in Atlanta. The course can be forgiving at time and be tuff aswell. The staff employees are always very friendly, pro shop well equip with plentiful items to choose from. I would recommend to anyone.
It's a course you can build memories on aswell. (Advise) Get your tee times early for weekends .

Good Course For The Money
Course was in good shape for late January. Greens were a bit fast but thats to be expected this time of year. Pace was very slow, it seemed to be overbooked.

The greens are fast and have some challenging contours.
Popular public course that was pretty crowded for a weekday and looked more like a weekend crowd, took about 4 and a half hours to get in 18. Had an 11:45 tee time.

Good course but pace of play is slow
The course is enjoyable and maintenance is good.
Pace of play is a problem. Starter let a group of 8 play together. Starter seems to know the party and let it slide but it impacted the rest of us. We had people pushing us from the back and we can;t move forward.
No course marshall, no beer cart, once you are out there, its the freaking wild west.

Decent course and fun. But, prepare for a slow round...
The course is in good shape, with the majority of attention needed on tee boxes. Specifically, a few of the par threes had the tees in a specific location for a long time and a) the turf was mangled b) the sand used to full divots from years has made the tee boxes domed. As result, to find a good lie, you had to go up or back several club lengths. The greens and fairways were in good shape and I can't recall a single bad hole. Lots of intrigue here.
I played as a threesome. We all talked about the pace of play issue and the other two play Mystery Vally alot. They both said pace of play is always super slow. The reason? Everyone was horrible, including the two guys I was hooked up with. Just a look at the people in front and in back of us, people were shooting over 100. I didn't see a single golfer capable of going low.
So, if you're a good golfer expect to be frustrated and spend 5 hours playing here. If you don't care about pace of play this good and fun golf course.

Great course, reasonable price.
Played on a blustery fall afternoon, but everything was in great shape. From the back tees, this is a challenging layout. The guy in the pro shop is always in a bad mood, but I played a round with two guys who work in the cart maintenance shop and they were awesome.

Course was in decent shape.
Course as in good shape except in some places on the fairway next to water hazards it was very muddy. All in all, the course played well.

Great Memories Revisited!
Played this course back in the 70's and was great to go back after all these years. My lifetime friend and golf buddy started playing golf about that time and played a lot at Mystery Valley. He's gone now but I'm sure he knows I was there today. Great course, great shape and great people! Play it!

- Location close to town
- Great value for the price
- Dekalb County resident discount
- Playability / forgiveness for missing fairways
- Challenging greens
- Good variety in hole design with very few "tricked-up" holes
- Good practice tee w/grass
- Walkable
Cons
- Sometimes can get backed up since marshals are rarely seen
- Blue tees are way back (6700+) which cause many of the delays since most people should be playing the whites (6300+), which is a great yardage

First time at Mystery Valley...great course, great value!!!
I booked a tee time via GolfNow.com and played Mystery Valley for the first time on 11/10/12. This course was challenging for me to say the least. I played my worse round in a long time but still enjoyed myself. I look forward to going back as soon as I can to redeem myself. For anyone going for the first time on the weekend, this is a busy course and you can plan on playing in a foursome with a foursome probably in front and back of you as well. Most players I saw carried their bags or used a push/pull cart. You definitely want to book ahead of time even if you're a solo player.

Very technical, with slopes and slants, plenty of hills and very fast greens.
I had been wanting to play this course for a while but the price was always a lil high until I saw a golfnow special. I was very turned off by the way I was greeted, very non chalant, "why are YOU here" kind of feeling. Then we were paired w/2ppl that I didn't kno and then bothered us abt how fast we played?? Fortunately all that cldnt overshadow a nice, technical course that I wld love to play again but I'm not sure if I will ever go back.

Good layout, and setup. Just has very difficult greens, and it's very easy to 3 putt.
The grass on all holes was very well manicured. Some of the tee boxes were uneven making the drive even more difficult when one is teeing off of a slope. Mostly open fairways for drives, and very reachable par 5's in 2. The par 3's had good distance and although most were tucked right behind bunkers they weren't all that difficult of a drive. Again the greens made them very difficult to par, unless one had a fantastic tee shot.

Fun layout
Mystery Valley is an old county course . There are a lot of regulars . A lot of old regulars! That being said, I don`t have elaborate on how slow pace of play is. I enjoy this course but I would play it more often if ready golf was enforced.

The course was at its usual best
The course was in great shape, but the carts were another problem. My cart sustained a flat tire, just after hearing that another cart had broken down out on the course.
