Beautiful layout, fairways sparse
For those golfers that enjoy playing along tall, tree lined fairways and enjoy the natural elements (birds, deer, and an occasional alligator) of the wild, then you will enjoy Oleander.
However, grass on the fairways is sparse and filled in with sandy grit. If you are a good ball striker, the grit will pose no problem to your game. To anyone that consistently hits behind the ball, your ability to a score will be hindered.
The greens are fair and well maintained.

The pace of play was great as was the staff. Price was also great.
There were no hassles when we arrived. The staff in the pro shop were very nice as was the starter. The greens were very good however the fairways were not good. It looked as though they were sanded for upkeep. For the price we paid it was still a great deal. Work needs to be done so the fairways will be better later.

Hamburger at the restaurant was excellent.
Nice course for the average golfer. The layout is challenging with above average bunkers and greens. Beautifull scenerey with the tree lined fairways which make you shape your tee shots. One drawback at this time of year (March) is the lack of grass in the fairways. I will be back to play again.

Poor Service
Very unpleasant starter - he had a problem with our reservation? discuss it with the pro shop,don't give us a hard time.
Pro shop staff not at all helpful in getting us tee times - I overheard them going through the replay spiel to others, just after we had been told no times were available. We felt we were second class citizens after their regulars.
Fairways were very heavily top dressed. Very few course markers, maybe we were supposed to buy a yardage book!
Restaurant menu good bad bad, slow service.
Much better courses in the area that cost less when booked through golfnow.
This is the week before a national schools event, so their minds may have been on other things, but that is not valid excuse for the poor service we have received on several trips to this course.

Good also For Winter Golf
Out of Winter Golfing the 3 - 18 hole courses on Jekyll this was our least favorite. It had was in good condition but not as good as the other 2 courses.
It also is not as challenging. I would suggest playing all 3 courses though and making that your determination yourself.
With Golf Now they were all Great Values!

Some excellent water carry holes
Wonderful course that requires good shot placement with many over water carries. Greens roll true and are in great shape. The only negative is that there is some type of worm in the fairways that causes many very tight lies.

great value
The fairways are in great shape, the staff is very welcoming and the carts are well maintained. Remember that they do have coolers for your use, so don't forget to ask.
The greens are still slow since they overseeded....but they look great
Overall, I would play Oleander again....what a deal

Great pace.great layout, not much green grass on fairway
On an overcast day in early February there was nobody else on the course. The fairways are not as good as Pine Lakes at this time of year, but the layout is better. The number 1 and 2 handicap holes are really challenging, with water that is hard to avoid, and all the holes are visually vey appealing. It's not as tight as it appears from the tees, but if you have a tough time hitting a straight ball, you're better off on Indian Mounds.

Good layout for average golfer's and seniors
Top of review would not allow slider to change conditions except to extreme left or right..
Course not up to best conditions due to early season, to allow grass to grow, creating some bare areas but greens in good shape.

Great course
Overall, this was a great course. The fairways seemed like they are working to get them in top shape. A few holes there were hanging trees, which make things more interesting.
I would reccomend this course to anyone.

This course will test your game.
There are some long holes on this course. They are also several holes with serious doglegs in either direction. I found myself leaving the driver in the bag and playing for position instead of distance. A good challenge for any golfers skills. I will be back.

Great layout, scenic
The course has an interesting layout and is very scenic. Greens were in great condition, over seeded for the winter. Fairways were not as good as the other Jekyll courses.

Classic old-style golf and a beautiful setting
Overhanging live oaks and oleander plantings abound on this coastal Georgia course, that was the site of the old Georgia Open. Some narrow fairways and sharp doglegs heightened the challenge. An occasional water hazard required us to think whether to go for it or to lay up (I laid up). The course was well-maintained and the staff friendly. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a different golf experience.

Lots of fun to play lots of water but does not come into play a lot.
Would come back anytime course was in very good condition and player friendly..
We liked the deer but understand that they are a bit of a nuisance.

Excellent course. Landscapers even stopped mowing while I teed off.
Scenic location with lots of support. Staff was very helpful.

Beautiful course with great views.
Weather was perfect sunny 80'F with puffy white clouds and nice breezes from the ocean. Course is great with wonderful scenery and ponds.

what's not to like????? $11.00 for each of us, fun course with some interesting holes, well maintained and we had the whole course to ourselves. you just gotta love GolfNow!!!!!
