Located in Sandy Springs on Morgan Falls Road, Steel Canyon (formerly known as Blue Heron) is a really fun, yet different, 18-hole, par-61 executive golf course. It has been recently planted with all new greens and renovations include much of the golf course, so it’s looking pretty spiffy. In fact, it is better than ever!

Steel Canyon also offers an awesome lighted practice facility where you can enjoy great grass, practice putting and chipping green, and new range balls. Add great PGA instruction and golf camps and you have the perfect place to master the game.

It's cheap but has some issues Overall, it's a good value for the money and plays quickly. The bad news is that they have to fix several tee boxes. There's only a few par 4s and 5s, but the tee boxes are ridiculous. My pet peeve is a un-level sloping tee box, which is what you have on holes 6 and 16. if you're right handed, your ball is almost assured of going right because you are hitting the ball with a driver and the ball is sitting above your feet. This is really unacceptable especially when there are only 4 par 4s and 1 par 5 on this course. And don't get me started about tee box number 8. The white tees are nothing but dirt. Literally. No grass at all. Furthermore, this hole is absolutely ridiculous. If you go just a little right, you have lost your ball into the woods. The tee box on number 11 is just as bad as the white tees are nothing but dirt as well. PLEASE FIX THESE TEE BOX ISSUES!!!! I have been playing this course a couple times a month for over a year, and I thought these were just temporary issues, but the course obviously has no interest in spending the minor amount of money it would take to do this. This is rather disappointing. But at the end of the day, this course is a good value for your money when you want to get in a quick round. Just don't think you're playing Augusta National. MaN, I AM TIRED WITH ALL THE HILLS AND CONSTANTLY cart path only, it is a tough row to hoe for a 78 year old. May 5, 2015
Decent Very muddy, course is really short and have narrow fairways. March 29, 2015
Good for practice The course was extremely wet and the greens were in fair condition. March 24, 2015
Slow Play Didnt see a ranger all day and pace of play was a huge issue. They needed someone out there to keep it moving. March 23, 2015
Great Value Interesting Layout for this course but great for short game practice. March 6, 2015
location, location, location Perhaps one of the best metro deals. Great staff. Fun little track. February 24, 2015
Cart won't work…foot-golf anyone? Being a peak time on the first nice Saturday in a few weeks, we expected slow play. We did not expect most of the delays to be due to the foot golfers that were playing alongside, across and over us. Never played foot golf, but evidently the game does not observe the same etiquette as golf. We also expected some less than ideal course conditions as well. It's early February, we get it. What we did not expect were uneven tee boxes with no grass and half empty hard-packed bunkers. And then there were the greens. Hole placement was ludicrous. On seven different occasions we rolled puts to less than 1" close to the hole - only to see them momentarily pause and then and roll back two or three feet. And to top off the experience, one of our carts died. An experience two others in my group had here before. Good thing we were close to the clubhouse (9th tee) because our repeated attempts to contact them by phone went unanswered. Simply amazed that this course has had so many positive reviews.
