Located in Sandy Springs on Morgan Falls Road, Steel Canyon (formerly known as Blue Heron) is a really fun, yet different, 18-hole, par-61 executive golf course. It has been recently planted with all new greens and renovations include much of the golf course, so it’s looking pretty spiffy. In fact, it is better than ever!

Steel Canyon also offers an awesome lighted practice facility where you can enjoy great grass, practice putting and chipping green, and new range balls. Add great PGA instruction and golf camps and you have the perfect place to master the game.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Wait a couple weeks I'm sure this course is a lot better than what I golfed yesterday. The greens were horrible because it was aerated. The fairways were not the best. Give this course like 6-8 weeks and it would be better. Do not go if you don't like aerated greens and the scorching hot sun! I'm sure the driving range was above par. July 29, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Understanding your role I decided to play this course with my son to celebrate my birthday. I was very disappointed with the amount of food snacks at the turn, AND the course owner (or manager, maybe) came out and told me that either I had to start teeing off from the reds or skip a hole to speed up play. He was rude. I offered to let the group behind me play through which ended up being silly because then they were holding US up on the back 9. We weren't going that slow, and the course wasn't of the quality to require him to be a jerk. July 27, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Course is hilly and not well maintained On the day we played only the front nine was opened and the greens had been aerated and were very sandy - basically unplayable.. It would be nice when booking on line to know when the greens are being aerated. July 17, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Foot Golf a problem I have golfed the course a number of times and for the most part, very enjoyable and reasonably priced, however, I do not like foot golf on the same course as golf. Also there were too many families with little children trying to learn golf. There should be set times for little ones and not on a Sunday in the middle of the day Paid for 18 holes but only golfed nine, Too slow with all the children out there. July 13, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Review My first time on the course. A lot of bare spots. All the greens were bumpy covered in sand and most of them were aerated which made putting a mess. Nobody to enforce pace of play, which for an executive course to take almost 4 hours is a bit much. If the greens were better it would be worth a golf now deal, so maybe once that gets fixed it will be a better experience July 3, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great value Can't beat this course for the price. Nicely challenging. Cool varies in elevation. Fun course. June 3, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fun course We had a great time at this course. My wife and daughter are learning and they were able take their time and learn. May 25, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by It's cheap but has some issues Overall, it's a good value for the money and plays quickly. The bad news is that they have to fix several tee boxes. There's only a few par 4s and 5s, but the tee boxes are ridiculous. My pet peeve is a un-level sloping tee box, which is what you have on holes 6 and 16. if you're right handed, your ball is almost assured of going right because you are hitting the ball with a driver and the ball is sitting above your feet. This is really unacceptable especially when there are only 4 par 4s and 1 par 5 on this course. And don't get me started about tee box number 8. The white tees are nothing but dirt. Literally. No grass at all. Furthermore, this hole is absolutely ridiculous. If you go just a little right, you have lost your ball into the woods. The tee box on number 11 is just as bad as the white tees are nothing but dirt as well. PLEASE FIX THESE TEE BOX ISSUES!!!! I have been playing this course a couple times a month for over a year, and I thought these were just temporary issues, but the course obviously has no interest in spending the minor amount of money it would take to do this. This is rather disappointing. But at the end of the day, this course is a good value for your money when you want to get in a quick round. Just don't think you're playing Augusta National.
