Good course in close proximity to Midtown
Everytime I've played this course the conditions have been good to excellent. The greens are always in good condition. The layout of the course leaves something to be desired however. There are a couple of places that could be termed 'danger zones', where three or four holes converge. Keep an eye out for golf balls, as they can be coming at you from any number of directions.
The front nine plays easier than the back, with good birdie opportunities on many of the holes including the first hole which is a 455 yard par 5.
Overall this is a good course for the price of the tee time #~$40#.

Decent course; bad staff
Every person on staff here at eye level needs attention. Very rude and insolent.
The course itself is in decent shape. Greens had nice pace to them. Would be nice if the tarps weren't so close to the greens.
Pace was iffy. Starting every single group on the 14th hole (?!) because that is what is next to the clubhouse is going to make the round longer than 4 hours. We didn't tee off until about 30 minutes after our tee time because we had to wait for a few groups to tee off.

Good location
The course can be difficult to find your way around especially if you are new to the course.

Poorly Maintained
The leaves on this course the day I played were out of control. The maintenance staff had done absolutely nothing to clear the leaves from the greens. They were practically unplayable. I can get over the fairways being covered in leaves but the greens take 5 minutes with a leaf blower and they will be fine for the day. There was no possible way to clear a path for your ball unless you spent 10 minutes bending over and picking up every leaf as all the other leaves on the green would just blow back in your path. Leaves are falling from every tree in America this time of year and I have never seen a golf course just blatantly ignore it like this one does. My advice is to avoid this course until the trees are bare. The beverage cart girl was cute and very pleasant though.

Rude staff, bad course conditions, mud, leaf covered course. More divots than grass on greens
I play this course 15-20 times a year since its less than 5 miles from my place. Typically an ok staff and course is decent considering its a public/ overcrowded, overbooked facility. This time was worst of all. Staff was rude, would not let us tee off 15 minutes early when course was actually open for once. Said we booked a twilight rate, which we did not it was a special on golfnow. 10 minutes before twilight started actually. Had to watch 5 groups go off. Get paired with two drunks so had to play as a foursome instead of my buddy and I knocking out a round in under 4 hours. They even admitted they prefer golfzing and showed it by their lack of customer service for golfnow customers, and repeat customers that play here a few times per month. Course condiitons were a 3 of 10 on top of the horrible customer service. Highly unrecommended!

Fun Course
Fun course, but for a first timer on this particular course it is fairly difficult to stay on the right path. The course winds in and over itself several times and you are constantly searching for the next tee box. Many of the cart paths wind right in front of tee boxes where a topped drive could easily put you in harms way. Lesson, stay alert on this course. Play however is more than worth the money. I would gladly tee off at 4 pm and only get in 14 holes before dark and still feel like I got my moneys worth.

Challengeing old track
Grass out side fairways need to be cut. Thin out the geese . Have more golfnow tee times.

great piece of history needs staff help
Great course and Bobby Jones played the first round when the course opened. Sherman and Johnston(civil war) also battle across some of the fairways. However you could fight the same style fight with some of the counter personnel. Ample parking down hill from clubhouse but no amenities. Fun piece of golf and American history.

Love the course but...
I've played this course only twice. It's a relatively easy course. I love the condition of the greens and the course overall. However, both times I've played this course I haven't had a good experience due to the staff. I've never had a course charge me when I booked for three and one of my buddies didn't show, especially when the course was empty. The other time I brought my wife to ride along at 7am (again the course was empty) and the pro shop tried to charge me a fee for her to ride along, even though I cleared this when I made the tee time two days earlier. I'd recommend the course based on the condition, the price and pace of play. Just prepare for a not-so-acommodating staff.

Goose Feces
Geese have taken over 1st 3 holes. Very slow pace of play....regulars have a sense of entitlement. Range marshals do not push pace of play. Decent Fairways...holes very close together
