This course boasts an interesting, mid-length layout that places more emphasis on accuracy and a deft short game than power. Just 6,775 yards from the gold tees and a modest 6,000 from the blues, this Steve Melnyk design has only a handful of par 4s with appreciable length, with several barely exceeding 300 yards from the blues.

Located in the beautiful, unspoiled farm countryside just north of Alpharetta, Trophy Club of Atlanta is carved out of heavily wooded terrain to create a challenging yet playable course. Now featuring Champion Bermuda greens, Trophy Club of Atlanta is one of best conditioned courses in metro Atlanta. Nominated as Golf Digest's "Best New Public Course" when opened in 1992, it was designed by DJ DeVictor and ABC-TV Golf Analyst Steve Melnyk. Measuring 6,774 yards from the championship tees, it offers multiple tee locations for every skill level.

cobrahead it was an average course would not pay more than $30 to play. the golf carts remind me of a hay wagon no suspension which was bad because a cart path is very rough August 17, 2014
Nice holes Good variety of hole lay out. I used most every club in my bag at least once. Very good condition except for a few bare spots, but typically not in high traffic playing areas. I think a scatter type entrance and exit on & off the fairway would be better than their gate idea, to eliminating some of those spots. August 16, 2014
SLOW I had the first tee time of the day and I was trying to fit in a quick 18 before week. Tee'd off in the near dark 6:20 but then they put two groups ahead of me and by 7:00 I played only two holes... I quit at this point..I can play this slow on a Sunday. I did complain to the proshop and they offered a "next round on us" coupon but to be honest, I am not going back so it was nothing of value to me. August 8, 2014
Almost there The greens were about a week, maybe two from being perfect. You could tell they had been punched about 2-3 weeks earlier. This is a short course but you must be accurate. OB is tight on almost every hole. I like the overall layout of the course. When the greens are 100% this is a great course. August 3, 2014
3 hr 10 min Wednesday afternoon round We played the course in 3 hrs and 10 minutes and took our time. I am sure this is not normal but pace of play here is usually decent. The tee boxes are getting beat up a bit and should probably be enlarged. The greens had been aerated three weeks ago but were smooth and when you saw a break it broken accordingly. Overall the course is in good shape and the greens will be back to normal in a week or two. August 1, 2014
worth it Great layout, great conditions, a fun course! Worth the price and availability of tee times was excellent. Nice elevations and dog legs, greens were avg speed. July 31, 2014
Reliable Course I play here frequently, especially when I need to play a quick round in the am. I have only encountered slow play here once in 30+ rounds at this course. They are one of the few courses that will always let you play as single as long as it is not in the middle of a bunch of foursomes. The conditions are consistently good to excellent and they will let you tee off in the dark (up to 30 minutes before daylight). I had to be somewhere by 11 am twice this summer. I made a tee time 20 minutes before daylight - one round took 2 1/2 hours by myself and the other round took 3 hours when I got paired with one other golfer. I doubt there are more than a handful of golf courses in the Atlanta are that could guarantee that pace of play. :) It sure would be nice if all golf rounds averaged 3 1/2 hours or less. Too Many people allowed on the course. Course backed up to the point of having 3 groups waiting to tee of in the middle of the round. This seems to be a perennial problem at the course and I will not play here until again until they resolve that. July 25, 2014
