Saddlebrook - Saddlebrook Course
not worth the money
I have worked and played at multiple courses over my years. If I am going to shell out 120 dollars I better be impressed. In the case of Saddlebrook I was very disappointed. The course is average at best. The condition was okay... The greens were fast but patchy. The rough was maintained but not to the level of the price they are asking. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Greens, fairways, tee boxes was very average for this area. This is a $40 course, not $110. It didn't look like any course changes or updates have happened in quite a while. Bare spots in some spots. Two gatorades cost $7.50. Can't imagine what alcohol costs.

The overall condition of the course was very nice. Very disappointed in the greens because of the over seeding which caused them to be very slow. I would recommend anyone play this course at least once. It is a little pricey for the quality. Other courses equally as nice for far less money. I will not pay the money to play again. Also didn't like the fact that we had no other choice than to have valet parking. Another cost!

There was no grass on many areas of the fairways and the green were not as good as in the past.

Good pace of play. Fairways in solid condition. Easy rough. Soft, fluffy beach sand in the bunkers. Greens were slow, a bit thin and several had bare, ragged patches. Staff was very friendly but the resort is showing its age. A bit worn like the greens. $9 for a hot dog? Seriously, this place isn't that exclusive. Discounted fees, OK. Was not worth the full price.

This is a fun but challenging course. Driver is not always the best choice off the tee. Greens were in very good shape, for the most part, but there was evidence of recent problems on several. The fairways were in remarkable shape, especially considering the amount of rain the course received during the previous week... a testament to the grounds crew. I was quite fortunate to be able to play this course as a single, able to take my time and enjoy the course as well as the surroundings, and was not held up nor pushed by other golfers... a rare treat indeed. Even so, I played 18 holes in just over 3 and a half hours. All in all, a great experience. And one I will try to repeat in the future.
