Course has nice lay-out but greens were bad. Played on a Saturday got hooked up with a 2-some (nice guys). The greens had been etched making it impossible to keep the ball on line. Should have been made aware of conditions at the pro shop but were not. Rest of course was descent. The signature hole is #15 a par 3 to a peninsula green. It is too bad the greens were unputtable July 22, 2014
a great value I do a good bit of traveling and find that many Golf Now courses are not up to snuff condition wise. I make it a point to visit Summerfield when I am in the Tampa area. This is a really good value. It is not that often that I find a course that combines a low price with good maintenance. I am not the best golfer so I am not as concerned with playing (or paying for) the immaculate courses when I am on the road. I just want to find a course that is reasonably priced that has conditions that are fair. Summerfield is not top of the line but I can usually play there for in the $15-25 range and I know if I hit the ball in the fairway I am going to get a decent lie in decent grass. The roughs are fair as well, cut to a length that is not draconian but makes you wish you'd hit in the fairway. Around the greens, the fringes/collars/rough are all well cared for as well. Fair is the best description. There are few surprises as to your lie and you basically get what you deserve and don't have to try to invent new shots because of some crazy grass or bare spots. On the greens, putts roll quite true. There are some problem areas, especially during a Tampa Bay summer, but they are the exception and not the rule. The course layout is fun as well. Much of it is pretty straight forward, but there are parts of the course where you have to think your way through a shot or two. There are some contours that make you have to alter shot shape now and then as well. In all, this is a fun course to play that is well maintained. It has challenges and it is pleasing to the eye much of the time. I will keep coming back when I am in the area. July 21, 2014
1st of many Staff was extremely friendly. Course is well maintained, although traps need "new" sand. Pace of play was perfect and "ambassador" was diligent. Course is extremely fair and requires every shot and a thoughtful approach. Great value! July 20, 2014
this course Had great layout perfect for the average golfer I really enjoyed it. July 9, 2014
Fun course Good course for beginners, but you have to hit your shots to really score well. Greens are fast and can be tricky, depending on pin placement. It's what links golf is about. Only wish the fairways weren't so hard pan this time of year. July 7, 2014
Great course The course itself is beautiful, I do wish they would fix the putting and chipping greens. It is one of the first things you base your golf experience on. July 6, 2014
Nice Course Nice course for average players, nice balance of obstacles. June 29, 2014
Odd experience The course was fun to play in terms of design, condition and staff friendliness. But I did have a bad experience in one area. On the first hole I used a LW to chip around the green. At the second hole I hit the green then putted out. At the third tee I noticed that TWO of my wedges were missing, the LW I used at hole 1 and my GW I had not used. Since it was crowded behind me, I decided to just get the lost wedges at the turn. But no one ever turned them in. I checked after the round, left my contact info, but they were never turned in. I know that having someone take 2 of my wedges is not the club's fault, but someone playing that day went to a lot of trouble to pilfer two medium quality wedges. Just disappointing. June 29, 2014
