Enjoyable Challenging but fair. Love playing when it's not crowded which is the case this time of year and the time we choose (noonish). Very hot so stay hydrated. Late afternoon storms but have been lucky so far September 14, 2014
Finally found a nice course After 2 months of playing in this area, twice a week, different course each time, I've finally found a decent course for a fair price...From tee to green, the course was in great shape...and if you like fast greens, this is the place...well worth the effort to check out this place... Golf nut What was once a beautiful course is now a dirt track surrounded by weeds from tee to green 1-18! Tee boxes overrun by weeds, fairways are very patchy and there wasn't a single green that looked decent?! The course is in horrible condition... I live two blocks away and won't be back for some time! September 2, 2014
good value The overall condition was o.k. Some of the greens had problem areas and some tee boxes needed work, but overall, for the time of year it was o.k. August 12, 2014
First Time At Summerfield I just moved to this area from the panhandle of Florida and I've been trying out some courses in the area. Summer field is very nice for the price, area, etc. most definitely will play again. August 10, 2014
Hole in one I had a hole in one on hole 8. I loved the staff and it's just a good friendly golf course. July 28, 2014
Course has nice lay-out but greens were bad. Played on a Saturday got hooked up with a 2-some (nice guys). The greens had been etched making it impossible to keep the ball on line. Should have been made aware of conditions at the pro shop but were not. Rest of course was descent. The signature hole is #15 a par 3 to a peninsula green. It is too bad the greens were unputtable July 22, 2014
a great value I do a good bit of traveling and find that many Golf Now courses are not up to snuff condition wise. I make it a point to visit Summerfield when I am in the Tampa area. This is a really good value. It is not that often that I find a course that combines a low price with good maintenance. I am not the best golfer so I am not as concerned with playing (or paying for) the immaculate courses when I am on the road. I just want to find a course that is reasonably priced that has conditions that are fair. Summerfield is not top of the line but I can usually play there for in the $15-25 range and I know if I hit the ball in the fairway I am going to get a decent lie in decent grass. The roughs are fair as well, cut to a length that is not draconian but makes you wish you'd hit in the fairway. Around the greens, the fringes/collars/rough are all well cared for as well. Fair is the best description. There are few surprises as to your lie and you basically get what you deserve and don't have to try to invent new shots because of some crazy grass or bare spots. On the greens, putts roll quite true. There are some problem areas, especially during a Tampa Bay summer, but they are the exception and not the rule. The course layout is fun as well. Much of it is pretty straight forward, but there are parts of the course where you have to think your way through a shot or two. There are some contours that make you have to alter shot shape now and then as well. In all, this is a fun course to play that is well maintained. It has challenges and it is pleasing to the eye much of the time. I will keep coming back when I am in the area. July 21, 2014
