Heron Bay was formerly TPC at Heron Bay, host of the Honda Classic until 2002. The course was designed by Mark McCumber and opened in 1996 "to challenge and entertain golfers of all skill levels, from amateur to the world's greatest golfers." The course features gently rolling terrain, a network of lakes, over 100 bunkers, multi-tiered tees and greens, and perfectly manicured open fairways. The course is young, so trees are scarce, although hundreds of trees were planted in 1998 and 3 1/2 acres of bunkers were removed to make the course more playable for the non-tour player. Wind is still the biggest challenge at Heron Bay.

The layout of the land at Heron Bay--210 acres of flat, arid and treeless property on the edge of the Florida Everglades--made for a challenging design. With 5 sets of tees, just be sure to choose the right set for your skill level and don't be afraid to leave the driver in the bag. Heron Bay has a lighted driving range open every day until 10pm

ok The course was OK. Grass was a little high in fairway, and greens were airated not to long ago. Teed off first so play was fast. People there were nice and friendly September 8, 2014
Greens need major improvements The greens are not to be desired. Course fairways are ok and tee boxes are below par but ok. At least put the hole in the green on the part of the green that is in the best shape. September 8, 2014
heron bay Greens were slow and in repair, fairways weren't cut September 8, 2014
They ruined this course The course is in horrible shape. Greens are patched so you are putting on 2 different levels. Also bunkers were missing sand. They have ruined a nice course! September 3, 2014
bucket list Prior home of the honda. Bunkers galore but avoidable and easy to gwt out of. Not many rakes on course .a few greens in bad shape but good overall. Was worth the trip. September 2, 2014
Dog track There wasn't a fairway or rough cut. Fairways were in terrible shape. Bunkers didn't have rakes and full of rocks. Damaged my club from a golf ball sized rock buried in the sand. Greens were awful. It was like putting through a minefield. They should take down everything that says TPC on it. When I first pulled in I was excited, everything looked great. By the second hole I wanted to ask for my money back. Not worth the cost, even with the golf now discount. Other than the course being technical and a challenge to my game there was not one redeeming quality. September 1, 2014
Great Value Early tee time with ver few people out on the course. Played fairly quick! Course was not mowed nor were the greens, so the course played really slow. A couple of greens had been sodded, I was not made aware prior to teeing off. For the $ it was a great value. Overall had a good time and enjoyed the round. I would recommend playing here under fair weather conditions. September 1, 2014
HB The course is being renovated and several greens were not really playable. Our experience was just okay. August 30, 2014
