Heron Bay was formerly TPC at Heron Bay, host of the Honda Classic until 2002. The course was designed by Mark McCumber and opened in 1996 "to challenge and entertain golfers of all skill levels, from amateur to the world's greatest golfers." The course features gently rolling terrain, a network of lakes, over 100 bunkers, multi-tiered tees and greens, and perfectly manicured open fairways. The course is young, so trees are scarce, although hundreds of trees were planted in 1998 and 3 1/2 acres of bunkers were removed to make the course more playable for the non-tour player. Wind is still the biggest challenge at Heron Bay.

The layout of the land at Heron Bay--210 acres of flat, arid and treeless property on the edge of the Florida Everglades--made for a challenging design. With 5 sets of tees, just be sure to choose the right set for your skill level and don't be afraid to leave the driver in the bag. Heron Bay has a lighted driving range open every day until 10pm

Cow Pasture Course in terrible condition.. Turf missing on fairways and greens.Played it when it was TPC...totally different...Stay away! August 12, 2014
Long course with rain drainage problems Course should have been closed. Golf carts tearing up the fairways. Water drainage problems from excessive rain. Seems like they would rather have the fairways destroyed by carts to make a few bucks instead of closing until the water issue has passed. August 7, 2014
Not Bad Not too bad! Greens were a little rough on some holes. Lots of sand traps!! Fun course though. Had some golf cart issues. One cart got a flat, the other cart ran out of batteries athough did play late in the day. Will play again. August 5, 2014
Typical low summer maintenance Bad course for the rainy season. Greens were bumpy, splotchy and in need of repair. Heavy rains from the week caused marsh like conditions on the fairways. August 1, 2014
Never again what a waste of $50, no wonder why TPC took there name off this course. I am surprised it is still open. The fairways were completely muddy, cart path only, greens had some sort of disease and was covered with green dust to help them look green or get over what ever was affecting them. I paid for 18, but my buddy and I left and checked this place of the list to never play again. Avoid this track, to many nice places to play in south Florida July 29, 2014
Enjoy this course while in South Florida In the past this course hosted the Honda Classic so it has teeth. With all the recent rain the course played long. Some areas of the fairways were still soggy and while maintenance is attempting to keep the course mowed not all areas were/could be addressed. Also recently punched and sanded the greens did not roll well. But I'll give it a mulligan as it is one of my favorites in the area. July 28, 2014
Not TPC quality course Wow. This is so disappointing. I could not believe how bad of shape that this course was in when I played it this past Saturday. I get that it has been raining but I play every Saturday all summer so am familiar with what is rain versus not maintained. This place is literally a weed pasture now. It does not appear they are maintaining the course at all. It was a red flag when they place was not packed for early Saturday morning tee times. No one was behind us and we were playing at 7am. I really used to love this course with all the bunkers it was different than a lot of courses so was fun to play occasionally. I am it sure if there is new Managment but I will not be back here unless there is a total redo of the Course. Oh, and the rates are still at a quality course price. July 22, 2014
Dog track To think the honda classic was once played here is mind boggling. The greens are loaded with sand and the fairways are mud. Awful course take your $50 elsewhere. July 21, 2014
