I played this afternoon Here's the scoop, I shot an 85 from the tips, the course is not perfect but they're working hard to improve it. You have to hit straight drives, if you can't, then try your 3 wood. The fairways seem a little narrower now but are clearly marked with yardage poles, the nearby roughs are almost too shaggy but you'll 'probably' find your ball there, but if you hit a little wide into the fringe mounds then just forget about ever finding your ball. I know technically there are rules on lost balls, but playing here, for now, because it's a discount course, you can probably just drop a ball somewhere nearby and just keep on going...and just have a fun day, enjoying yourself and working on improving your straight shots. Fairway irons and chipping played pretty good. Putting has some issues because of some greens going through aearation. But you can tell if the greens are slick, average or a little slow or bumpy. Another one of those times where you can just have fun if you know you would have made a put normally. Anyway, I still think it gets better all the time out here, just stay on the fairway, or make sure you bring some extra balls. Nobody anywhere is working harder to provide a good course at an affordable cost than this crew! If you support golf in general, then you should check out this reasonably priced full size course with a driving range and putting green. July 22, 2015
Great course for the money, being improved daily I like what the new management has done to bring the course back after it's momentary glitch when it was down for a few months. Their priorities are greens, fairways, roughs, traps, and refreshments(also there is a putting green and driving range). I love going out there, I've been shooting high 80s from the tips recently, my problem isn't the course, it's my short game. They are diligently working to aerate the greens, so don't get upset over a few imperfections. Use a little common sense and your 'discretion' on the greens if they are being aerated, and the same in the thick roughs, you might lose a few balls(watch them until they completely stop rolling!), but in truth, roughs are allowed to be 4" deep anyway, so hit straight and hit the greens in regulation and just enjoy planning your game strategy and seeing the wide open woodsy scenery. I think I'll play tommorrow, it's been a week, miss it. July 22, 2015
Mr. H This course was in horriable condition. I would not pay $1 to play this course. No grass on the greens and no grass on the fairways. The only grass on the course was in the bunkers. This course is a disgrace to the game. June 25, 2015
great value three of us played 18 holes with carts for less than $50. nice long course and super friendly staff. will be back June 14, 2015
Needs work The new owners have been there since April they have a lot of work to do to get the course back in shape but it has potential !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! June 9, 2015
Bad condition!! Has new management. Hopefully they can get this course cleaned up. Greens were really rough. Fairways weren't even mowed. Sand traps had water, no sand, and grass growing in them. June 6, 2015
Panama City has an 18 Hole full size community golf course again Bay Dunes has been resurrected. I stumbled on it on the internet looking it up recently out of curiosity, called a listed phone number and got an actual person believe it or not! (872-1667/1704) Give it your business, and play your game. Of course, give them time to thin out the roughs, green up and smooth out the greens, water in what Mother nature hasn't rained on to, also so they can give us clean soft white sand to play in with our beach balls. I had fun playing it, I learned I had to commit to staying within Fairway/Greens regulation hits from now on, which significantly helped my game anyway; straight and sure. Anyway, the greens are pretty fast and smooth, good 'as ever here', use your irons out of the rough or else you'll never get out. I got better in 3 days using my head(103, 87, 81). Hold your head down, hit clean, straight and get on the greens. ALWAYS WATCH EVERY SHOT TILL YOU SEE EXACTLY WHERE IT ENDS UP! Nice new mgmt. I'll brag that I got 2 birdies on hole 16, and birdied 18 my first time ever by landing on the green within 5' of the hole using my 7 iron and then putting in. So you see, even while the course is 'in the works' you can still have memorable moments! May 27, 2015
Dump Golf If you have played this course before you know what I mean when I say "dump golf". The course was about what I expected to see. The greens (??) were fast but it was like putting on a washboard. You never knew where the ball would go. No water on the course, not even a hose at the equipment shack. So if its hot spend some dollars in the pro shop or be very dehyrated. I guess for the price its ok. You get to hit balls and your would spend at least double the price to go across the bridge. But be warned you get what you pay for. May 26, 2015
