A Central Florida Gem
Great course . Recommend highly. Staff was friendly and greens were beautiful. Tee time was easily booked thru GolfNow.

Nice course Close to home.
Good layout. Good condition. Some of the greens were a little burnt out. Overall nice course to play.

Played in the morning before flying out to return home.
I read some of the reviews regarding water on the course but I think those people would complain about anything in life. It was the rainiest month Florida has had in over 100years and people still complained about the soggy conditions. Duh.
When I played it was damp and wet in spots still but it had dried out nicely and was fun to play.
I shot 2 over par (fluffed a couple of up and downs) and had fun hitting to particular areas to avoid the bunkers etc.
The greens had good slope to them and were challenging but not off the hook.
Got a great deal on GolfNow and would totally play there again.

We were driving by late in the late afternoon. Stopped in and used Golfnow mobile app in the parking lot. Booked a 3:45 tee time and was able to start a little earlier. Pace is was very good and we had a great time

Rainy season woes
The course was very wet. With no cart paths, you had to constantly dodge wet ares all around the course. There re several deep cart tracks in the fairways and around the greens. Many irresponsible folders obviously played before we did over the past few days. The course really should have been closed all week with the rains. In the long tun, the condition of the course will suffer. Too bad , like the layout and would play again if conditions are improved .

A "play at your own risk golf course"...
Have you ever heard of a “play at your own risk golf course”…? Neither had I until I played Hunters Creek Golf Course.
After nine holes the skies turned black, and there was thunder and lightning in the distance heading our way. I decided I didn’t want to get caught out on the back nine when the eminent thunder shower hit. At the turn I stopped in the pro shop and asked Brandon if I could get a “nine-hole rain check”. He proceeded to inform me that unless it was actually raining they would not issue a “rain check”, I was shocked. I pointed outside trying to make him aware of the impending storm. “What about the thunder and lightning…?” Incredulously, he told me “Hunters Creek is a play at your own risk golf course”. He then said, “You can wait until it starts raining and then I’ll give you the rain check”. I was floored…!
Brandon stated this is what he is told to do by the GM. I asked if the GM was there. He said yes and turn his back to me and continued doing whatever it was he was doing. It was obviously more important than taking care of a paying customer. After about two – three minutes he turns and looks at me. The look on his face was like, “Oh, you’re still here?” He then asked if I wanted to speak with the GM. It took all of the control I could muster to respond with calm “yes”.
He went and came back to say, “he’s meeting with another employee, but he told me to tell you that is the policy. You’ll have to wait until it starts raining.”
As I waited, a young boy who I had seen putting on the practice green walked into the pro shop. I could by the way Brandon greeted him that he must be a regular. The young boy told Brandon, “We’re getting ready to get blasted #meaning it is getting ready to storm#. Brandon looked at me and went in the back offices. When he can back, he announced very sarcastically “You have your rain check”.
I said, and I admit, with an upset tone, “Really…?’ Brandon then said, “I don’t know why you are upset”.
I told him, “I’m upset because this is what you should have done thirty minutes ago when I first walked in here”.
As I was driving out of the complex, the skies open up and it was raining...really raining. I’ll never play Hunter Creek again.

I've played this course multiple time as I have many courses in Florida over 18 years. Today this is by far the wettest unplayable course I have ever played. The greedy owners should have shut the place. On multiple occasions my buggy was bogged down to its axles in the middle of the fairway. Please take my word for this and avoid.

Played this course 2 years ago & it was in much better condition ! Unfortunately there has been days of heavy rain, which obviously is out with the course managements control, but they have been allowing golf to be played here & the carts have been tearing up the fairways. Almost all shots have to be played as preferred shots due to the churned up fairways !
Had to abandon play due to the weather, disappointed there was no mention of a rain check ! although happy @ price we paid via golfnow.com, $17.99 included cart, range balls & free beer !
Staff @ pro shop & bar area were first class. Would play again, only after course has time to recover !
