Lost potential
Sabal Trace has an interesting layout and lots of potential for an enjoyable round. The problems are that they appear to be only interested in obtaining 6 minute tee times, not interested in course conditions and it all makes for a negative employee and client attitude.

overall good value
GOOD - price was right $20 for 18 with a cart after 3pm
- staff was good
BAD - Course was crowded at start, slow play thru the first 9,,, no marshall present to speed up play. Back 9 fine,
- some greens and tee boxes were in REALLY bad shape, but overall course in decent shape.

Great value for your money. Pace of play was 4 hours--great.
We golfed after 12:30 pm and the pace of play was great. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Condition of course not bad for late March. Great value for our money.

Took 5 hours to play. Some greens need major work.Greens need to be cut a little bit shorter. You can hear the ball rolling.
It has a great layout but it seems neglected in some areas.Took 5 hours to play the course. Waited on every hole and every shot. There were 2 -3 greens were in very poor shape. Greens were slow, could hear the ball rolling. Bunkers were OK. Some lies in the fairways and rough were patchy. Would play again if I had nowhere else to play.

This course has a great layout, could be a four starr if more maintenance was put into it.
Three or four of the greens were in poor shape and needed some repair and maintenace. The rest were fine, but a little slow. Course quite dry, but mostly due to lack of rain this winter.
Some of the Tee's needed additional maintenance.

Poor condition and slow play - not a recommendation.
It appears as if no resources are allocated to course conditioning and maintenance. The course is always busy and booked but very little revenue or effort is allocated to its primary asset. The greens are very slow and inconsistent (sand patches on some). The fairways have many areas that would be considered ground under repair at most courses.
With so many good courses in the area, it's difficult to understand why this one is so frequently booked. I will not return.

Golf Course Maintenance Staff
This by far was my worst experience at any golf course in Florida. I consider this a cow pasture. The greens are a mess and hard as a rock with sand spread over them. The cups were cut up in the air so you couldn't make a putt. They dont know how to set a cup or maybe too lazy to do the job right. The greenskeeper needs to look for other work. I am a greenskeeper in Las Vegas and I would be absolutely embarrassed to say I worked at Sabal Trace. Can't say enough bad things about the course. Green Fees should not exceed 15 dollars per round. Terrible place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Course is long enough to use driver/fairway wood shots.
The course is generally in good condition, however the greens
could use some extra attention (damaged areas need to be repaired). Holes are fairly wide open for golfers who don't have
precision shots, all the time.

it's a beautifull golf course
for my first experience at this course it was a pleasure to play
there. the employes(es) was very attentives.
I hope i can play again at this place before i'm going back to
canada.

Rach em, stack em, and pack em were the words of the day. 15 minute waits at each tee were the norm as this course had vastly overbooked. 5.5 hrs sad.
The course needs a great deal of attention as I have played far less expensive courses in far better shape. 5.5 hours to play 18 was absurd and there were many many players behind me who had to have finished in the dark. The course had nice water hazards that if played in less windy conditions would have been fun. Over all this is a course I will not waste time or money on again.

Course Needs Water
We played three courses this weekend around the North Port area and this was by far the bottom of the stack. The course was clean, staff was friendly, but the course itself looked like it was in the middle of a drought. Very dry fairways, Greens looked more like patches in the dessert. Literally patches of dry dirt on the first green. Sand traps throughout the course have been allowed to grow into dirt/grass bowls next to a couple of the greens. Course was semi challenging, but in very poor shape. Looked like it was either a drought or in the process of foreclosure.

Pace of Play
Fairways and greens in acceptable condition - course very well marked (incl. hints of scorecard) for 1st time players. Nothing negative to say except the pace of play - first 2 holes took an hour to play - thankfully it got better and the back nine pace of play was acceptable.

Very nice layout
This is a very nice course with varied holes. Play was a bit slow
and could be better run. They need to pair up people instead of having 1's- 2's playing by themselves. We played the blus and it was a good challenge. Acouple of greens were a bit spotty but are large so as to not interfer with putting.

A decent course for the money, but play is quite slow.
Course gets a lot of play, but in decent shape. Course is about average in all areas. Extremely slow pace of play, but staff is helpful. Layout is neither easy or challenging. Pretty wide fairways with some water and OB, well bunkered holes, and 4 sets of tees from which to choose. Course was enjoyable to play,

The course rangers did a great job of handling an issue with the group behind us who were hitting into us on the front nine. Whatever happened to southern hospitality? No problems on the back nine.

Wouldn't take my best friend to this course
The greens are in poor shape and you can tell they really don't want to maintain the course, but they want to charge you same rate as the better courses in the area. The ball cleaners are empty or broken, missing towels and so on. The only thing I can say positive is that this would be the place to practice and learn your game. The course has a great layout if someone would take care of it.

The course greens were not in the best shape, but the pace of play was great.
I booked this course last minute for not only price but location. I paid $20.00 after 2. The pace was great on the front side but when we hit the turn things were all backed up so we played the front side again with nobody in front of us. The greens on the front side did have a lot of burn marks and bare in spots, and the carts did not have GPS which made finding yard markers tough. Overall I would spend the extra $5.00 or so to go play the Bobcat Trail as it is a much nicer course for the money!

Great Value
This course is not the best in the area, but may be the best value. It is a nice layout, but the course is not in 'pristine' condition. The fairways are generally good, but the rough is either very heavy or bare ground. The greens were very slow and had some bare spots when we played.

Very nice layout, but in very poor condition
The course has the potential to be great, but unfortunately, it is quite evident that management does not have the funds needed to make it that way. My review summary says it all in a nutshell.
The layout of the couse is excellent and challenging. However, the fairways are torn up, the rough is a mess with pine needles and leaves, trees need to be trimmed or cut down, and the greens need a ton of work. If you just want to go out and have some fun with your buddies, ok. If your a more serious golfer, forget this course.

Course has challenging layout
Greens were very slow but seemed in good condition. Tees and cart paths need work. Was OK for the money. Not very busy.
