Beuatifull Sunday morning With all of the rain that we have gotten all of the sand traps were out of play and full of water. Some of the fairways had been drvien through and there were many, many ruts through the middles of most of the fairways. This was my first time playing Venetian Bay, I will probably try it again, the rate on was almost $20 dollars less per person than the course rate which as very nice. The play was very slow though as there was no ranger on the course and the foursome behind us kept hitting into our group and playing music pretty loudly. October 6, 2014
yuck very sloppy wet and muddy nasty first time playing and very disappointed October 5, 2014
This course was in terrible conditions This course is advertised as a 4.6 rating course, but the course is in really bad conditions. The course has no complete car paths, the longest was probably 150 feet. The course was extremely wet and we were instructed to approach the balls at 90 degrees, but I wondered 90 degrees from where since there are no car paths. All bunkers were full of water reflecting course poor drainage or percolation. Surrounding homes and public utilities are under constructions making the course and environment extremely noisy and full of barriers. There was no indication of course condition at time of reservations and we drove 19 miles to find disaster. The green fees were not adjusted according to course conditions. This is one of the most expensive course in the area and is not worth it. There was no food or water service and rest rooms at the course were not clean. Golf Now should require Golf courses to report actual course conditions at time of reservations. Cannot trust Web page on course ratings and conditions at time of reservations. October 1, 2014
Great Course!!! This was a great course! I've always been skeptical about FL courses, because they tend to have too much water, but this course was very playable - no forced carries that I saw. The area has had a lot of rain this summer, so the bunkers were washed out and the fairways were soggy, but the course was still in immaculate condition, especially the greens. I would highly recommend this course, especially for the price. September 16, 2014
One of worst courses ever played I decided to play this semi-private course while in town visiting family. The staff tells us they have received tons of rain so bunkers are closed, cart path only. I say okay is their a discount for the inconvenience? Their response, no but you can take relief if you go in a bunker? Really??? You don't want me to hit out of a bunker in 3 ft of water? Fairways had weeds 2 ft high! Greens were sandy and in poor shape. I would have given the place zeros for appearance and playability I I could. I will never go there again. The municipal course cypress head was way Better than this place. August 3, 2014
Bring the bug spray!! Overall nice course with a super friendly staff. I would play again with a better price/Hotdeal. Sand traps were flooded and had been holding water for some time. Mosquitos were unbelievable! You will need a can of spray to play this course in the am. July 21, 2014
No discount for flooded course They should be embarrassed that they charged $46 for a course that clearly had not been mowed in at least 4 or 5 days. The fairway was lush from all the rain, but it had weeds growing everywhere and got no roll because it had not been cut down. It was more like hitting out of the rough. Also, good luck finding your ball if you hit it in any bunker. Every single bunker was completely flooded and unplayable. I understand that some of these things are out of the courses control, but the price should have reflected these conditions, which it did not . Fun course, but disappointed I paid $46 for a course that should have only been charging about $25 or $30 July 21, 2014
Very nice golf course I've driven by this golf course many times on the way to the beach and the holes by the road looked tight and interesting. When you play the course it is pretty open and interesting. We played with a tropical storm off the coast so there weren't many playing and we never waited on a shot. The course was in good shape and the greens were smooth with average speed. Overall a very enjoyable experience and I would recommend the course. July 3, 2014
