Lely Resort Golf & Country Club
Before I make a tee time in the summer I call and ask one simple question, every time. "When did you perform maintenance?" Sounds simple enough. Yet I am almost always answered with " the course is in good shape". Amazing. I'll be the judge of that if you don't mind. In this case the course was not in good shape. It was in poor shape and on several holes was, in fact, under construction. Golfnow did not have the "A!" Symbol and the person who answered the phone said it was fine, yet I found the exact opposite. Unhealed greens, bunkers literally under construction, verti-cut fairways and tees. Poor conditions. If your course isn't in playable shape, don't tell someone it is. Am I likely to return? No. Had they told me when I checked in that the other course would be a better option today, then absolutely. My point is everybody knows the courses are rough a few times a summer, so let people know. For $40.00 there are a lot of other options and those are the one I will explore from now on.

nice Florida resort course
Real nice course. Built in GPS on carts. Very hot but water coolers every 2 holes.

The layout from the champions tees is difficult and a worthy challenge. However for the price the tee boxes were in below average shape and the greens were extremely sandy

Played both the Mustang and Flamingo at Lely and they were fantastic, but if you are only playing one choose the Flamingo. Lay out is challenging and spectacular.

Good value thanks to GolfNow
Had a pleasant round on the Flamingo course. It was VERY wet and cart path only. That said, we had an enjoyable time. As my title suggests, thanks to GolfNow we got good value.

Beautiful, championship-caliber course
I had only visited Lely one other time, and I think we played the Mustang course. I had not been overly impressed with that round.
This year we played Flamingo, and I can't say enough good things about it. Just a gorgeous layout, beautifully maintained, and challenging without being brutal. Plenty of length here- refer to the slope rating, and choose which tees to play wisely. GPS on the carts is always useful. The undulating fairways are generally wide enough but protected by bunkers, and plenty of room in the rough if you're wide off the tee. Greens are generously sized & beautiful, and also guarded by sand.
We got a great deal on GolfNow for afternoon play, and had the course all to ourselves. (It's been a very unusual summer so far- rainy season has been scattered and unpredictable. No guaranteed afternoon t-storms so far this year)
Overall, one of the nicest golf courses I've experienced in recent memory.
