Providence 3.6 5 94 94
A Favorite Course of mine. Course is well maintained. The holes have a lot of Character and a fun Course to play. Great value if you play afternoons. April 4, 2013
Interesting layout – especially the back nine Played this course many times since the opening and it is always good to come back. The front nine are in a housing area, where as the back nine are “pure nature”. It is an interesting track, most holes have different layout. Fair length from the back tees, different length of Par 3’s and Par 4’s holes, some dog legs, water, trees – just everything a good golf course is about. Fairways and bunkers well maintained. Greens need attention as some of them have spots without grass, but are still in fairly good condition, although some were just too slow today. Pace of play was good and staff very friendly. Overall – a good place to go, especially if you get a hot deal from golfnow.com. April 3, 2013
An enjoyable course with some nice features The course has matured and seemed a lot better than when I played here a few years ago. Not that difficult to get round as long as you avoid the bunkers and the odd alligator. April 2, 2013
very windy day. nice course with some tuff holes. the buinkers are in good shape. The greens were true April 1, 2013
Good Value For This Level of Course Good course in good condition, has an upscale feel but with friendly staff, well worth a visit and good value! Back 9 played a bit slow due to a few slow parties but not but the Marshall tried to speed things up, however not a big problem. March 30, 2013
better then average Links style course with lots of sand on both fairways and around large green greens. Front nine is easier then the back. With 4 sets of tees. As with most courses playing from the tees appropriate to level of ability will allow all levels of golfers to enjoy. some long forced carries and water does come into play both off the tee, approach to green. Front nine had some greens under repair or visible turf damage. All though are large enough to give challenging pin placements on different levels. Back nine greens were in much better condition with no visible winter or other damage. Some of the fairway rough and around one green is turned up by the wild pigs but really doesnot come into play. A good mixture of doglegs, right/left and straight holes makes it enjoyable to play. A yardage book, GPS or playing with someone who hs played the course would help first time playing. One of the better maintained in I-4,27 area. If your looking to see alligators there are many throughout the course in the water hazards and ponds. March 29, 2013
Good value for the money. Very pretty back nine. Enjoyed this course. First time and we are snowbirds so know the area pretty well. Front nine is wide open, lots of fairway and greenside bunkers. Back has some fun sharp doglegs with hidden greens. Just under $50 for PM round a Very good bargain this close to Disney in peak season. Greens have just enough slope to make it interesting. 1st short par 4 on back has hidden water that we both hit. A small sign that says "220 to water" would help as there is no course map on the scorecard. March 29, 2013
The front nine are quite open whilst the back 9 meander throught through the trees making it quite different. Lovelly course with some very nice features and from the back tees quite challenging. The greens are in absolutely great condition and the ball runs very true. Definitely worth a visit. March 26, 2013
Nature everywhere loved it We will be back great fun for the money! Loved the nature on back nine March 23, 2013
Nice Layout Nice & wide open not to many homes that surround the course, like the different elevations. Water hazards come into play so be sure you came control your shot, large sand traps along with the wild life (wild turkeys and a variety birds) that you will see on the back nine. Had a great time plus love the course and you will love the fact that if you slice one it's not in the other fairway! March 19, 2013
Great value, fun to pay Providence offers great value. It has a nice layout, is in good condition, and has a good pace of play for a very reasonable green fee compared to the courses closer to Disney. The staff were friendly and it was nice having a drink after the round on the patio of the great clubhouse. I would definitely recommend. March 17, 2013
One of our favorite courses in the area. Great value. The course has a variety of holes... starts easily and then gets tougher as you go. Greens have enough slope to make them interesting. We've never seen it crowded. March 17, 2013
Wide open fairways with water in play. Very generous fairways with water making approach shots on a few holes difficult. We played mid morning and the pace of play was good in spite of the ranger being on our case throughout the back nine to pick it up. We normally play in southern Ontario and found the yardage accurate but the ball did not carry as far as at home. Closer to sea level I guess. The back nine was very much secluded in the wooded areas and very quiet. We would play again with fair pricing due to golfnow.com booking. March 16, 2013
From Arizona to Florida Though we were in Arizona on front nine. Wide open fairways, lots of sand around greens. Slightly narrower treed fairways on back side. Greens and fairways in good shape. Overall we enjoyed the course. Non-resident fees of $58 with coupon are a bit high compared To Diamondback, so not great value for money. I'd recommend to others but I won't play again because of non-resident fees - where would the courses be without visitors March 16, 2013
good layout, poor conditioning Fairways ok, greens inconsistent and patchy. Sandtraps awful. Rough was bare in places. They need to charge less than the $53 I paid and then I would use this as warm-up course before moving onto better tracks. March 15, 2013
Had to use every club in the bag We started on time & we were paired up with another couple from Ontario. The fairways are suffering somewhat from a lack of rain in Central Florida but the greens were in great condition. This can be a tricky course due to fairways sloping towards hazards & lots of sand. We enjoyed the course & will play it again soon. March 12, 2013
Open Course, few hazards The course was in good condition. There are not a lot of hazards and the fairways are open. The price is reasonable and the staff was very accommodating. Restaurant is present and opens at 10 for breakfast.. They too, had reasonable pricing. March 6, 2013
Few funny holes but still a great course! Greens were in better shape on my first visit in March 2012 but I was told that weather in Feb 2013 was tough on courses in FL. Still a nice layout with several holes where you have to think twice before taking your driver. Temperature was in low 50F with very strong winds, which made it a little bit tougher to control the ball flight. On the practice green, gusts of wind were moving the balls without having to hit them! I will go back under better conditions. Still can't figure how to play #14, a sharp doglegs left that is over 415 yards from the white tees. If you don't cut the corner, you have 250-275 yards left. To cut the corner with a driver, you have to get the ball airborn very quickly because to me, the white tees are TOO close to the trees. Taking a 5-wood or even a 3-wood would still leave me with a very long 2nd shot. I guess this is an example where playing from the blue tees would be an advantage. May be next time, under better weather conditions. March 3, 2013
Very Poor Arrived at course to find no-one at bag drop. Parked and went into register and pay. Two staff at desk, one on phone, one checking his cell while i waited at desk for attention. After delay, paid and went to bag drop, still no-one and no carts in site. Went to practice area, found cart drove back to bag drop, loaded clubs and drove to first tee. No Starter so just TEEDED OFF !! followed by a long slow round. Waste of time and money February 28, 2013
Nice course to play and in good condition Good course for the money, and in good condition. Had a nice meal after golf in the restaurant. February 28, 2013
Course has good features but an aggressive ranger spoiled our fun. This is a nice course with a good mix of open driving areas and challenging approach shots. Bring extra balls and a good sand wedge! The greens were in OK but not exceptionally good shape. They also have subtle undulations that are challenging to read. I left a lot of mis-read putts out there. The clubhouse staff and starter were cordial and polite. However, after the 4th hole, a ranger drove up and coldly reminded us that a gap had opened between us and the group in front of us and that we were going to have to speed up our play. He then just sped away to the next hole. I thought we were playing at reasonable speed, but we tried anyway to close the gap anyway. We gave up after a few holes. The group in front of our foursome of average players turned out to be a threesome of better players who must have been late for a lunch date, because they continued to pull away. It was at this point that I checked my watch and the recommended playing time on the score card and learned that we were, if anything, ahead of schedule, not behind as insinuated by the ranger. Meanwhile, we had rushed through several holes hurrying between shots, not reading putts, etc., trying to close the "gap." This was not fun and it showed in our scores. We eventually finished in under four hours at our normal pace of play (3:50, to be exact), well ahead of the group behind us. The ranger had a copy of the starter's schedule and should have known that we were playing at the recommended pace. This was already relatively fast for a course of this difficulty. We should not have been prodded to play "race track golf" just to keep up with a speeding group of better players in front of us. Hopefully, this course (and others) will review their policies regarding a reasonably pace of play. The existence of gaps does not prove "slow play." As well, we did not drive hundreds of miles and spend hundreds of dollars for a vacation to play "race-track golf." If you are looking for high-speed play, this might be a good course for you. But, at the present time, I am hesitant to recommend it to visitors who just want to enjoy the course and play at a reasonable pace. February 28, 2013
wide open fairways, too many short holes Pace of play was fast, however the slope is low, consequently there is not enough challenge February 27, 2013
Love Providence. Love playing Providence. Friendly staff and a great course to have fun and tone your game. User friendly as I call it, room for error but still a good test of golf. A couple of greens need to be looked at but overall in great shape. Will play there again for sure. February 26, 2013
well worth the money Staff was very friendly. Course is in great shape, greens well maintained, traps fair, great tee boxes. Overall a very pleasant experience and look forward to playing it again in the future. Back nine is more interesting and real plus is no homes on back nine! Big advantage to first time visitor is that you really can see where to hit the ball with few surprises. Be sure to look at hole map at each tee!! February 25, 2013
okay course, greens need attention Course was okay for price we paid. Greens need a little work. Facility was nice. Big range, enjoyed the bar and grill. Biggest problem is that they allowed a fivesome out in front of us on a Saturday morning. Then at the turn, a threesome of complete beginners was put out in front of them. We saw a couple rangers throughout the day, but they just waved and drove by us. No one seemed to care about the poor pace of play. February 20, 2013
One of the best courses in the area Fairways are in good shape and so are the greens. Water and sand add to the challenge of getting on the greens in regulation. Course rewardsyou for good accurate shots and some holes make you use strategy over brute strength. We found the greens had some tricky breaks with average speed. February 20, 2013
Great staff Pro shop manager allowed are group to play as a fivesome, great course for the price. February 17, 2013
Enjoyed every hole and course condition was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed the golf course as it challenging, but forgiving. The pace of play was very good and Greens were very put able. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and played the course in just under four hours. We will be back. Tom & Claire February 14, 2013
the course has some good features we found this course to be one of the best we have played up to now we enjoyed it so much we just keep on going back it is very well looked after . February 14, 2013
Loved the experience Course is fairly open & in quite good shape, length is good & cart paths are a great feature, loved the wild life ( birds, gators, etc.). Will be back again. February 6, 2013
