Selected in the January issue of a leading golf magazine as one of the Top Ten Golf Courses in Central Florida for 2002, this course is destined to continue to be recognized as one of Florida’s finest courses. Enjoyable round of golf. Friendly staff. Wide landing area but still challenging. Will play again. April 11, 2014
Great Course; Rude Members Because my guest had a 2:00 pm flight back North, I booked the first tee-time, 7:00 am. At about 6:55 a group of three women drove by me to the forward tees and sat for 10 minutes. When I approached them to ask about their tee time, they became offensive. When I mentioned I had the 7:00 start, they said that didn't make any difference. They were members and they went first. I went the pro-shop and was assured they would play so fast we would never see them again. Not true. We skipped number 15 to move ahead, but they approached me, yelling obscenities, in the 16th fairway, then cut in front of us on the 18th tee. I spoke to the GM afterward, and suggested we would not be back anytime soon. I suggest there are courses all over Central Florida that are just as playable as Legends, with members who are much more friendly and who enjoy the revenue outside guests bring to their course! Too expensive for conditions A lot of money has been expended for curb appeal and No. 15 but the rest of the course needs a lot of work. They need rangers to expedite play. The overall layout is good and the holes are challenging but the cost is too high for the conditions. April 9, 2014
Great value course Great facilities for a lovely course. Fairways are reasonable but the greens are superb. Will definitely return. April 8, 2014
Good course and great greens for the money The greens were great. Fairways were ok, not spectacular. Bunkers were usually filled with good, but heavy sand. Overall a good place to have some fun playing golf with folks of different skill levels. Relatively open fairways with a few holes with shot placement requirements or trouble awaits. April 8, 2014
Visitors from Sweden Everything was perfect except that the ball in front of us didn' t have a clue to look back, we waited 5-10 minutes at the first 9 . We wanted a coursemarshall to look for slowplayers!! April 6, 2014
Please Help Me! Central Florida is one of the best golf landing spots in the entire US and there are truly some great golf courses. There was a time when you would find each and every one in great condition, with the competition for your golfing dollar so strong, that each course would go out of its way to outdo the next. The Legends was one of these and would always go the extra mile to make your day a great one. Now, it is yelling "Please Help Me", as it is not in very good shape. It was one of the 1st courses I played in central Florida with elevation changes. The greens were always consistent and quick. The fairways were tightly cut and trimmed along the rough. The flowers were always in bloom, the fountains had clear blue waters flowing in and out of them, etc., etc., etc. Alas, those days are now gone. The staff is still nice and you feel welcome. Although it did take a phone call to the Pro Shop to get a Ranger to come and threaten, I guess, the people in front of us. Otherwise we might still be playing. The course has such potential and reflects days gone by, every once in a while, but overall, this track is a shell of its former self. The greens are so messed up that uphill can be down grain. An obvious slope shows a left to right break, but no.... the way the green is cut, the ball goes in an entirely new direction. Things like this never happened on this course before. True meant true. Up was up and, well you know the rest. The value was ok, thanx to Golf Now, but had I paid what the people in front of me paid, I would have been extremely disappointed. I was excited to play there as it had been some time since my last visit and unless I can't find any other place to play, I fear it will be a long while before it hits my list again. Oh, yeah. The range is a joke. There was no grass anywhere on the teeing area and the flags were pointing in varying directions, meaning that some looked as if falling over, others were right next to one another, etc. Legend by name only now, there are truly other places you will be happier to play. Sorry! Just my thoughts! April 6, 2014
